I think he is starting to get some respect now as people have seen the other British talent like Murrey's, Mitchell, Barker, Macklin, Degale all fail at the top world level. Amir is the most entertaining and the biggest name in Britain since Hatton and has done Britain proud but people will still pick holes mainly due to his race.
Why because of his race? Same old rubbish
People didn't like him because of his attitude and not his race. I disliked him for the same reason I hated De Gale
There is a big difference between the way these 2 conducted themselves and other fighters have.
Khan will gradually get more fans as he has changed his approach
How is his attitude any different to any other top boxer? Give me an example when he has behaved like Degale when he fought Groves? Or even an example wen he acted like Haye? I accept early on he was frustrating when he was given journeymen from Warren but after he parted company with him the level of opponents have got better and he has got better and for that and the two belts he holds he deserves maximum credit.

whilst it was hilarious watching khan get knocked out by briedis prescott, i don't know any boxing fan that isn't impressed with what he's done since so i'm not entirely sure what you are talking about.
i suspect you've been listening to too much hip hop or watching too many spike lee films
If i started listing them i'd get bored plus have you ever seen him around Bolton?
Like I said he seems to have reigned it in a bit since Freddy Roach got involved.
As for current best English boxer I have to give that to Carl Froch

khan might surpass froch in the next few years but off the top of my head i can't think of another fighter in the world over the last 3-4 years that has consistently fought the level of opponents froch has
I like Khan and always have. He is a good boxer and should be given more credit than he is. I think there is a mixture of reasons as to why the British public don't get behind him as they have done with previous great boxers.
The main problem he has had is that sky pushed him on to box office to quickly so they could cash in and then he went to primetime and people didn't want to pay for a boxer they hardly knew.
Hatton only went on to box office after he had won the world title. Khan went on there after about 10 fights and that has made people not get behind him like they have done with previous fighters from Britain.
It is good for him to be back on Sky now and with a good win this weekend and then beating Bradley should bring the fans back around.
bcfc good post, some valid comments.
he may have been a bit flash initially, but which kid who is given such riches at such a young age wouldnt? besides, haters are gonna hate- hate the game not the player.
fact remains, his skin colour is the number1 reason why people in the uk dont rate him.

Totally agree with you. I loved watching Naseem Hamed. Even with his arrogancy, I didnt mind shelling 14.95 to watch one of his fights. I wouldnt do the same for Amir Khan. I dont think Khan has properly knocked out one of his opponents yet has he? There's always a cloud over his victories. Never been convinced by him. He's one of those fighters that attempts 50 punches but lands about 3. Yes he's got speed, movement but thats about it.
Naseem was a legend. I still go on You Tube just to watch his knockouts

He get's a lot of criticism because of naz, he was the last muslim english boxer, the public got behind him and he turned out to be massive pri ck that got fed bums like khan as been, then when he got his big fights, he started coming out with a Pakistan flag and you just felt like he was throwing all our support on our faces so now people are finding it difficult to get behind another muslim english boxer.

No am not saying that, but i honestly felt naz threw it in our faces with the pakistan flag an that. Then as you say making comments about the country he was brought up in, the 1 that's give him the opportunity to become the fighter he as, just rubs people up the wrong way.
his management are a bunch of amateurs. trust me. they're the ones bringing him down. they've got no clue about boxing yet they're running around demanding big money and ppv tv for poxy matchups. no wonder sky pulled the plug on them. they soon come running back to sky once they realised how foolish they were.
After this fight, he needs to get mayweather then he would be able to go back to box office for that. Also even though he as gone far beyond him, he still needs to settle the score with prescott.
do you think khan can beat mayweather? i havent seen anything of khan yet that makes me think he's got it in him to beat someone of mayweathers experience. khan to me has this obsession of wanting to be an explosive knockout fighter like naseem was. he ends up trying too hard by throwing too many punches which dont connect. how many times has he ended up headbutting his opponent accidently. that i belive will be khan's downfall if he does fight floyd. he'l try to rush in to show everyone he's a knockout fighter and floyd will eat him up alive.
Naz throwing Pakistan flag in your face? How stupid are you as Naz was from Yeman. He's an Arab . Talking of Pak flag no one complained when Junior Witter or Rendal Munroe wore half Jamaican shorts.
I think that was a genuine mistake typing naz instead of khan
Was it? Well when was the last time Amir walked in the ring with a Pak flag rather than the Union Jack?
I dont think he brings any flags into the ring now does he?
Well if he wants to fly a yemen flag please do so on you're 1st professional fight so we boo you're ar se from day dot. if witter thought hatton, who would have got the support, ask yer self that?
Captain, to be fair in his recent fight over in america at daft a clock he as looked good in my opinion and floyd is on the way down looking at his last performance
