The history :

Spurs BBC606 treated Mich as we always do, a Spurs OCD reeto to be ridiculed (his "If Spurs beat Arsenal" is legendary) . Around Xmas 2010 twas a large amount of Spurs OCD WUM wannabees, so the mods banned quite a few people. Mich being a reeto made himself one of those casualties.

Then for all the remainder of 2011, Mich went full OCD and spent 5 months creating umpteen accounts on BBC606. Spurs 606 collectively destroyed them, but the mods were quite spineless at times.

On JA606, cos the owners act as both sys Admins AND moderators, Mich has not had such an easy ride.

The U8613 account was about the 4th he created on ONE sunday in summer 2011 (the Admins kept banning them faster than he could establish them ) .

but if your banned u cant create another account it wont let you,so how do u work that one out then?

In 1987/88, we didn't have anything like that ( *** ) .
We had to make do with the Challenger disaster, and some plank from Imperial/ICSE trying to explain how the O ring defect related to sw engineering.

The mods did the spade work of spotting repeat offenders. Mich is like a primitive parasite. We all learned its lifecycle, its behaviour (the ESOL etc) , so getting those accounts banned was easy.

But the mods were very lax with one or two of Michs' multiple personalities.


On JA606, well let the Admins tell you how they deal with the Michs of this world (paging you lot) ...

Basic stuff like IP addr matching ( +/- subnet masks perhaps) .

When Mich got wise to that, I think he then tried IP proxy servers. So the Admins built an IP proxy server black list. And their list apparently got bigger much faster than Michs' did.
