Im not sure why posters on here, cricinfo and the indian media are making Laxman a scapegoat for all of this. Probably need to look at the likes of sehwag and gambir in particular if they want to rid their problems.
Also alot of talk of in-fighting in the last week, with dhoni banned for the next test, it will be interesting to see how the players play under sehwag......
Dhoni, Laxman, Dravid, Vinay Kumar need a boot.

I still don't get why Vinay Kumar needs this long a run-up to bowl @120kph.
We are officially out of the front-runners and have joined the likes of West Indies and Pakistan. Only difference being, we are World Champions...they are not.
@ ian blackwell
swat - what about sachin?
Also, if india are serious about international cricket, they seriously need to visit the IPL situation, cut down on the T20 cricket and make the IPL alot shorter and cap the amount players can earn. 6 weeks of IPL is extreme

oh dear. Some people never learn. Never mind
why do people blame dhoni. yes he hasnt had the best run batting wise, but mind you his average in the last one year has been more than laxman, sehwag and gambhr. If you you really want to blame, then blame the likes of sachin, dravid, sehwag and laxman. have they played 180 matches to score 40s and 30s? at this stage their minimum target shud be a 100, or else retire. whats the use of all this experiance if you cant contribute jack? sachin and dravid have been scoring those 60s and 50s, but wait even ashwin can do that, or a peter siddle. this series and england series have definately made a hole on these legends reputation. they should just retire and make way for the youngsters, or either drop down the order and give kohli and rohit to bat up the order. and dont even get me started on sehwag and gambhir.
"swat - what about sachin?"
He has looked our best batsman by quite a distance.
And what do I have to learn Afridi ?? Was I too harsh on India or Pakistan is a top team in your mind ??
Why did you delete my comment? I'm trying real hard here to build bridges.
And for the record, India are long gone. No hope, no future. England will be a formidable force for years to come. Why? Well because they have IAN

Viru, your spot on.
Swat- Pakistan are no top team yet, but on current form, even you have to concede We have the upper hand. If england beat us 3-0, I' ll take that back and admit We are even.
What about the myth that is Ishant Sharma. If you can't get wickets on those Aussie tracks and before that in England then you should not be playing test cricket. Just cos he balls the odd ball over 145k should not keep him in the team. Someone like PK would have done well in Aus.

At the cricket whilst the pitch at Emirates must have been flat I can't help but feel Warwickshire were not aggressive enough today. I'd be fuming if we had blown it like they did.
At the end of the day who cares.
Lancashire=Champions (at last!!!!)
Would be tragic if this was Laxman's final test.Played some epic innings and this will not be the best way for exit.
im just wondering if a match of the series is given to a player from both teams, like we saw in england, which indian player would get that. surely i cant see any batsman or a bowlers that looked decent enough to be considered to get that award. I think my vote will go to rohit sharma, because more than anything, he is what evey indian thinks is the big thing in indian cricket, and most people say he is currently the best batsman india have. so i would rather give man of the series award to rohit sharma and give him some confidence, cause unfortunately our team is not good enough to motivate themselves let alone the youngsters
amla, unfortunately they chose to make themselves in this situation. none of the players from the playing 11 had any fighting spirits left in them, and they were just going through the motions. Forget this indian team for a moment, what would sourav ganguly be thinking right now? inda between 2000 and 2008 havent lost a single match by an innings, and come in the last 6 or 7 matches and almost all have been lost by an innings. Lets not forget that none of the players are doing a favour by playing for their country. none of these indian players are bigger than indian cricket and one thing for sure is all of them have damaged the reputation that ganguly put in the past 10 years.
best indian on tour so far is yadav
im sorry peter but i have to disagree with you. he has been way too expensive to my liking. i dont blame yadav, but none of the seniors are helping him on what lines or lengths to ball and it seemed like he was left in the sahara desert to find his way out. In that aspect i think he was by far better than the whole indian team combined. But none of the players whether it is yadav or sachin, have done anything special to get credit or an applause.

It would be just tragic if most outstanding careers in Indian cricket end like this and I think it will be going through their minds that they do not want to end in a such a note.
sachins average in the search of the 100th ton has gone from 56.95 to 55, If he keeps on playing like this it wont be long before his outstanding career of 22 years of hard work go into water. same as dravid. his avr has gone from 53 to almost 51. Gambhirs ave has gone from 51 to 45. and same as sehwags. It wont be long before our famed batting line becomes an ordinary team if things go this way. it feels like years that I have seen some big innings from this india line up. These days even passing 200 mark might be making indian fans happy, that atleast we have reached here.
