Davie

I can understand rangers fans trying to cling on to this, but the bottom line is that our club wasn't liquidated, we carry the same company number and our business continued to trade, there was no break in that just a name change.

I really didn't want to be pedantic in posting this article but the fact this has even been raised is quite baffling. I suppose it is glasgow right enough.

I am not clinging on to anything. If Rangers go completely bust, then a new company will be formed, The team will be the same - same colours, same badge, same name. Any holding company or financial body that controls it will be different.

Just as the team that plays at Celtic Park is Celtic (not Celtic Plc) the team that plays at Ibrox will always be Rangers.

Did you copy and paste your OP straight from CQN? Or did they copy and paste it from here??

Got it from CQN Henrik

Fair enough davie, just wanted to try and clear things up from our point of view.

Our badge still says that we were founded in 1888. Rangers will say 2012. Will look a bit weird having an honours list claiming titles in 1947 etc with 2012 on your badge

Henrik - our badge does not carry a date!
If you are going to try and wind us up, at least get the facts right!

posted on 24/2/12

I never said it did davie! So get YOUR facts right! I implied your new one would!!

posted on 24/2/12

Why? Does your badge carry the name of the company? Neither does ours.

Rangers Football Club will always be Rangers Football Club, and that's what it will say on the badge, today, tomorrow & beyond.

Davie! Face it! Your cheating club is going to die and I am ECSTATIC about it!

Now stick that in your pipe and smoke it!!

Short version
Anyone who thinks they are supporting the old Rangers and aint stoting about with maggots crawling out their eye sockets and looses an occational limb are kidding themselves on

As for those who are happy to give their support to the new mob , then wire in as I look forward to someday having the kind of rivalry I enjoyed with the dead one

Fixed and in language even a zomb can understand

Celtic the company were sold in 1994 therefore the company no longer existed!
let me explain
If I purchase a trading company (a company who are still in business) lets call 123 ltd that company then becomes MY COMPANY and has nothing whatsoever to do with the former owners or company!
I then rename MY COMPANY: PACIFIC SHELF 595 LTD
Now the former company 123 (celtic in this case) "ceased trading" which in law means "IT IS A NEW COMPANY" and I have begun trading under my company name "PACIFIC SHELF 595 LTD"

In effect it is my company trading as my company under my company name the former company celtic have absolutely nothing to do with my newly aquired company
Therefore celtic fc ceased to be in 1994 when Fergus McCann purchased and renamed his company PACIFIC SHELF 595 LTD
STOP misleading people with you`re thoughts!

OP - not quite. As you will see here

http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/216599e8fd1b10f79c097dfb2a3c428e/compdetails

The previous name of Celtic PLC was in fact "The Celtic Football & Athletic Club Ltd"., whose previous name was "Pacific Shelf 595 Ltd" as you can see here:

http://wck2.companieshouse.gov.uk/216599e8fd1b10f79c097dfb2a3c428e/compdetails

As you will also notice, the assets in full were transferred right through from the original Celtic Football & Athletic Coy to Celtic PLC, via Celtic Football & Athletic Company Ltd (formerly Pacific Shelf 595 Ltd).

Also transferred through was the incorporation date etc.

A similar through transfer would be easily accomplished from "The Rangers Football Club Plc"

In fact, such a transformation may already have been prepared for since the date that administrators were called in.

"Rangers Football Club of Glasgow Ltd" was registered 3 days ago, and there are 3 separate applications for "Rangers Football Club Ltd" and one for "Rangers Football Club Glasgow"all on 14th & 17th of February.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
o where to start with this
First Celtic PLC registered in Scotland
Company number SC003487
Incorporated on12 April 1897 (please note company number and incorporation date)
have never ever been called Pacific Shelf 595 Ltd.
So either a simple factual inaccuracy or a lie at the wind up??
The only name change is as is explained in the OP
They only change in name was
"Previous Names:

Date of change

Previous Name

15/12/1994 THE CELTIC FOOTBALL AND ATHLETIC COMPANY LIMITED
"

the Pacific shelf company was an off the shelf ltd bought by Celtic PLC with the sole intention of securing the old company name for posterity and stop passing off.

is the same entity that was incorporated in 1897, no changes, no passing of assets, the same and still solvent and trading.
Unfortunately the same can not be said for RFC 2012 P.L.C. (in liquidation)

Company number SC004276 Incorporated on 27 May 1899 and previously called THE RANGERS FOOTBALL CLUB P.L.C. 27 May 1899 - 31 Jul 2012
