It was just boom bap beats in all honesty.

I actually don't mind Joey at all. He's better than most of the new school.

Boom bap beats being one of the most dominant East Coast beats back in the 90s right?

I can't work out if your comment was in agreement or?

I'm in agreement

I'm just saying people went way over the top regarding his style when he broke through. He was just a talented kid rhyming over boom bap beats.

I like Asap. Testing seems like a label rushed project but the 3 before that are all good imo.

I think Asap seems a good rapper. I think in general I struggle with the production value from none-Kanye songs these days

Long. Live. Asap was a kinda unique project with the almost psychedelic beats from Clams Casino.

That Trilla beat though<flame>...you can't listen to that song just once and move on to the next song.

I think it was Live. Love. Asap

Cypress Hill dropped a new album. Album cover is flames as well...just haven't listened to it as yet lol.

asap is distrinctly run of the mill, like edin says he has a few great tracks like 1train, canal street and a few others but can't say I ever go back and listen to his whole albums

Holy Ghost is his best song imo.

He's better than run of the mill though. That's harsh lol.

I mean run of the mill by solid rapper, got nothing against him, but not someone i'm always wanting to go back to.

Ferg is a better rapper than Rocky

I'd even argue Trap Lord is a tighter, better album than anything Rocky did

Find asap rocky quite boring tbh, don’t feel he takes his music that seriously and it’s quite uninteresting.

Listening to the Logic album.

If I hear him reference another artist in every single one of his verses I'm writing a formal complaint.

Can't be as bad as The Game though.

True

100 Miles and Running he seems to be trying to emulate Fu Schnickens (mainly Chip Fu).

my mates loved them, could never get into them, too scratchy

Scratches as in DJ scratches?

There hasn't been so much of that on this album. Insane amount of interludes though which I'm sure has some sort of significance...just haven't figured it out yet. My initial thoughts is each interlude either opens or closes a specific 'sound' or style of beat on the album.

If you're a stoner you'd love Cypress Hill. I enjoy a good puff of that heavily fumigated mean green so always took to their subject matter.

Yeah and his voice is too high pitch, just never got into them

Nas needs to drop another album or ep to get over that kanye west record.

posted on 2/10/18

Yeah...just a half assed effort from everyone involved on that album.

What did you guys think of Nasir? I was enjoying it on the first listen till I heard the anti-vaccine verse and it switched me off to be honest. The lyrics were dialled-back but some of the production was decent I thought

posted on 2/10/18

ha read the last two comments before yours can that's how I feel. Too much funky kanye nonsense for me, and didn't fit nas' at all. I liekd the slow long tune, everything I think it's called.
