What did you guys think of Nasir? I was enjoying it on the first listen till I heard the anti-vaccine verse and it switched me off to be honest. The lyrics were dialled-back but some of the production was decent I thought

Nas album has two quality tracks on it, forget which ones they are. Forgettable otherwise but he has never really released a great album after Illmatic.

I am that person but I think I might be wrong because I dont find myself going back to it so often.

That's why I don't listen to albums when they come out and the hype is at it's peak. Tbh I think Thought & No. ID just tried to capitalise on the hype of his freestyle he dropped on Funk Flex which I still listen to like every week.

Yeah, really enjoyed that. Black Milk is a really interesting producer, but I've not listened to his recent last solo release yet

It Was Written

It was written, stillmatic, even liked a lot of songs from streets disciple, although there was about 30 tracks to choose from.

I do feel that this Nas album wasn’t the one he intended on releasing. Reckon Kanye rushed him real quick for the verses so he could do his 7 track album thing. Bar a few songs and verses Nas just isn’t up to standard on most of it.

Those albums are ok, not great though

Stillmatic and It Was Written to me are great hip hop albums, it’s always unfair to compare every Nas album back to Illmatic. That album is flawless from top to bottom

Haha, I'm basically trying to get an idea of the crowd in here, testing the waters

Nothing will hit the heights of Illmatic but It Was Written, Stillmatic, God's Son, The Lost Tapes & Life is Good is all good too.

Yep the Lupe album is really nice, I didn't listen to the last but Tetsuo & Youth before that was also a great album. You can't just dip into them mind

I'm liking the Sheck Wes album as well so far, dunno if anyone has listened?

It feels like another Tetsuo & Youth but not as good or focused imo.
