True. I listen to Doggystyle quiet a bit and I feel Tha Doggfather doesn't get enough attention but even Snoop's b-sides from the Doggystyle alone probably has far more reception than X's hits lol

Are ghostwriter an issue? Dr Dre and Eazy E had people writing all their lyrics. I guess it depends on if you buy into the characters they create as their actual life or not.

Keeping it real has always been a strange mantra for a genre that concentrates on living in poverty while making rich people of its artists.

Depends really. If a rapper prides himself on his lyrics then you gotta be writing your own songs.

Eazy, Dre and even Kanye...people respect them hip hop artist but nobody in the culture will ever refer to them as lyricists or anything.

Thought is revered as rap god though...will be a low blow if he didn't pend his own shiiit. I doubt it though.
