OK, I Have A Bar of Soap At The Ready

to shove in my mouth just after I come out with it:

Goodbye Kenny. It's not working, it has never worked, and it never will.

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Hey Wishi!

I hope you got some soap left over, because I have to fully agree with you.

Oh well, the thought of him guiding us back to glory was nice, but everyone must wake up from a nice dream at some point. What a pity.

Marked

In my heart, back when he took over the job permanently, I feared this. It was a dream destined to fail for all the euphoria, and so here we are.

Putting the carling cup and europa league qualification aside, it's no use denying the league is a failure.

If I were him I'd resign and keep my self-respect in tact.

Yeah, I agree. This week has simply been the worst we've had since the dark Hicks, Gilette and Hodgson finales. I think FSG are all but certain to wield the axe, hopefully at the end of the season. However, if there's any romance left; it would be nice for Kenny to leave with a FA cup win (although, on current form, we're in the crazy position of being the ranked outsiders. Even Bolton have more chance of winning it than us because they have the momentum of 'doing it for Muamba' giving them a new lease of life).

All the same, the league is where the money is, and we simply can't afford to slide down the league into mid-table obscurity. With a tradition as proud of ours, fans won't take the perpetual tag of 'also rans', so the only way forward is to bring in a top, top manager. Rafa is the obvious choice, but I'm not sure we should be looking to the past again. Mourinho would be a dream come true, but our current position wouldn't tempt him. Ancelotti would have been perfect if he hadn't gone to PSG. I'm going to controversially suggest taking a punt with Villa-Boas, as he'll certainly be a manager for the future. He'll be a little wiser after his Chelsea nightmare, and he did great with Porto. Couldn't be any worse than our last two managers, surely.

Interesting times ahead...
