Mike I envy your optimism and the fact that you're still somehow clinging to the "Warnock inherited Grayson's mess" argument

It's the kind of the thing that Lorimer writes in his articles every week in a lame attempt to appease the fans

All I'm saying is, don't take it out on me in a few months, when the sht hits the fan and we have another summer of zero transfer activity whem Warnock finally realises Bates's promised "warchest" is completely empty and promptly walks.

If you think we can afford a better quality team than this, you're dreaming I'm afraid.

Mike, I too envy your optimism. I really hope Chorley, Colins and I are wrong. I had hoped we could have made the playoffs this year, but that hope is fading fast. I was not especially a fan of SG but thought he didn't get the financial backing he needed. However as a Leeds fan his mindset wouldn't let him resign, which he should have had done. He could then have told it how it is. Now after being told his services were no longer required, he is no doubt gagged from saying anything. Colin on the other hand certainly isn't a Leeds fan and I think he will walk if he doesn't get the funds he wants. I hope this actually puts Bates under pressure to do so. Still can't see it though, he doesn't give a damn what other people say about him.

so the b 0 l l 0 x talkers have started on Warnock, I see.

This squad is 99% Grayson's. They know in their hearts they are not good enough. No surprise to find out NW is not a miracle worker.

But you cannot judge the man until you see what he does in the summer and what happens in the first half of next season. Anyone deciding now about him,. or even in August / September is frankly a clown not worth listening to.

Is he as good as he has been bigged up to be? Don't know, I prefer to judge on what he dopes at Leeds. It slightly worries me to read the Telegraph article that the playing budget in QPR when they won the Championship was twice what we spend, but lets wait and see.

On SG, I was one who gave him a massive benefit of the doubt for a long long time, and saw the way the club was led from the top as the issue, but - if he was stopped from spending what he thought he needed, he mishandled things as he always appeared perfectly happy, indeed said we'd be promoted with this lot in our shirts.

Still possible NW won't get what he needs from Bates in the summer - but hopefully he is made of sterner stuff than SG.Will be interesting to see.

Bottom line - this is all hot air, you can't expect anything else at the moment (could hope for a miracle, but not expect).

I assume you include me as a b 0 l l 0 x talker 2020, well cheers pal. We are expressing an opinion which we are entitled to do. Look at some newer threads and you will see that Colin's miracle working last year required paying out 3 times the wages SG paid out on half the turn over. Hardly an even field. And Bates will NOT spend the same amount in the summer. My main point on here is a lack of investment in the team.

Grayson lost his way sometime before he was sacked. He had to go particularly when it appeared that he had lost the dressing room. Warnock? Well you can't make a silk purse as they say. At least he shows passion. The defence as a whole yesterday were poor (and I'm being kind here). The midfield were absent, had we had the alternatives on the bench then both Brown and Clayton should have come off. Snodgrass didn't appear to have the usual zest and God only knows why White gets a game, lots of running with no end result. McCormack is the stand out player in terms of effort and commitment. Becchio shows glimpses of what he used to be capable of although yesterday the Frankenstein lookalike that masqueraded as a referee didn't help him.

I'm not a Warnock fan but he is obviously more capable and experienced in getting teams into the Premiership and has to be the right man for the job right now. We're not going anywhere this season and if Warnock is true to his word and 2012-13 is his last season in football, then this might be a heaven-sent opportunity to get promotion and then get a manager who has the right credentials for the Premiership.

Of course it all hangs on the bearded wonder and whether he sees investment in the team next season (starting with realistic contracts for the better players already here) as the priority or whether he wants a Premier Inn closer to ER and possibly a Lidl too, after all this is the level we're currently at.

The b 0 l l 0 x on these boards is the people always dragging Graysons name up and blaming him for everything!..

We've played teams since he left that as far as most were concerned should have well and truely hammered us, and we played well and had results that on other days would have gone our way, bad refs or no luck, whatever, the players have shown they can play, its the lack of consistency that has let us down, and consistency is the players not the manager!..

If anyone can get us out of this league then Warnock is one of the best at it, but I've said before and I still think anyone that thinks Bates is going to open the flood gates had best think again, he's not the sort for doing what others think he should, he does it his way and others have to work from that, so hopefully Warnock is as good as he talks, because at this moment we're doing no better,(oh sorry, Grayson again!)but the players should hold their hands up and say their just as much to blame as the old boss was, because they have shown they can play, but they have the usual cant be bothered attitude that has become a trade mark of our team in the last lot alot of years!..

We have a team of players that in some games work for each other and in others don't, our defence has had a few decent games since Warnock turned up, but they've also had the worst result known to the modern day Leeds fan, and at the same time, our strikers haven't scored what they have done, so, a couple more things to blame Grayson fot eh?..

Worst result EVER in the Football League at ER!

Go-Bates-Go(Sooner rather than later!)

It was an awful result, but it was not as bad a result as the West Bromwich Albion game all those years ago!

Let's get some perspective here, we lost a game with this recent one, we were denied a league title by the other one!

Not the Ray Tinkler match? We were fined and banned from playing at home for a couple of games weren't we (or maybe behind closed doors). All because they players surrounded the referee. Maybe they should dish out similar punishments nowadays.
I was only referring to the scoreline Eric.
