Why Brown....to lead St-Helens..why

Nathan Brown was a very good player in his day, unfortunately his career was cut short with a severe neck injury where one more tackle may of seen him in a wheel chair for life....

The St.George club looked after Nathan and kept him on as assistant coach and before long he took over as top coach of the Dragons...NRL

St.George had a star studded team but failed to reach any great heights and every season under Brown the team on paper always started the year as favorites, which at the end of the day means jack unless you produce it on the field.....many were saying Brown was to young and to close to the players.
All we do know is Brown's appointment delivered nothing as far as silverware goes.....only expectations came out of Dragon territory and to my dis-belief he got picked up to coach in the Super League....I asked myself why would a club want an Aussie coach who has got nothing to prove he can coach at the highest level.

But still Brown gets called upon by one of the biggest club in S/L St.Helens have signed him and other then Brown is no longer a youngster nothing has changed....he still hasn't delivered but he is getting top pound for it.....

Brown has done a superb job at Huddersfield, big step up to Saints but I think he has the bottle to handle the job.

Souths put your dislike of the fella to one side, Brown has transformed the Giants from also rans to true contenders - they currently sit top of the league. He hasn't spent big or inherited a decent team neither. He will do well at Saints with their talent pool. Only thing I can level as a complaint at Brown is the use of Wrestlemania tactics at the PTB - but thats just the same as what your coach, Maguire, coached during his Wigan tenure!

I haven't got a dis-like for Brown at all.....I just don't think he has deserved his easy passage into coaching without any silverware.

Hey Rabbitoh, interesting to read your comments re
Nathan Brown, surely being a coach in NRL is more difficult than coaching in SL.Altho i have only been
watching NRL this season, i am amazed at the
consistency of all the teams, no teams are runaway
victors, unlike super league were the regular trophy
winners are the richest clubs ie Warr. Wigan, & Leeds.
I am afraid RL in England is following the same path
as football.Brad. Bulls are only the thin end of the wedge.Whatever NRL are doing its a lot more
successful for the sport of RL.

Re. NRL & S/L....I think it comes down to the money generated by the idiot box and major sponsors....
