I have to give credit to my Dad for telling me this...
He said he was watching LFCTV and there was a discussion about Jordan Henderson. The caller explained that football is a business; like any other. Within a business you develop relationships with other businesses - so in footballing terms - clubs have relationships with other clubs.
This can be shown with feeder teams and also the way that Everton and Man Utd have a good relationship - as Everton seem to have first refusal on many of United's fringe players. The same goes for Sunderland.
Now with this relationship - surely if Jordan Henderson was the player we are ALL hoping him to be - United would have signed him? They are looking for a creative midfielder; which Henderson is going to grow into So surely if he was going to be a player worthy of that price tag United would have gone in for him? and made sure they got him? In today's world United are a lot more appealing to anybody, especially to Liverpool at the moment so I don't think there is any way Jordan chose us over them.
It's certainly a talking point...

RB -
Read the article again - the point was raised on LFCTV.
My Dad did not agree with the point - he just thought it was worth thinking about.
Again, if you read the article - at the very end I typed 'it's certainly a talking point' - thus SURELY implying that I don't fully agree with it, but do believe that it has it's strengths within.
Or maybe it's a family trait to not be able to read?

Oh Vidicschin I remember you well.
Due to the age of Goggs and Scholes United do not have time to develop a midfielder to run their midfield whilst City and Chelsea will be buying big. We are playing catch up, United are in the lead. We know as much as anybody you drop off it's hard to get back in. Snooze you lose.
Point stands a player's worth is not measured by Manchester United's interest.
I don't smoke. I have, however, just ingested 5 magic mushrooms. Woah look at them lights.................

I saw that discussion.
But tell your Dad there is a huge flaw in the logic.
If we're only going to go for players that United are interested in, and by the self-same logic, "United are a lot more appealing to anybody".....
How are we going to buy any players?

This guy is not a Liverpool fan, don't be sucked in.
Look at his profile, does it remind you of anyone?

All players Man U didn't sign, just because Man U didn't sign a player doesn't make them bad, what a retar-ded statement.

Read the article again.
Do United have close links with:
Southampton, Athletico Madrid, Valencia?
NO - BUT THEY DO WITH SUNDERLAND!
So my point is - if Henderson was as special as we are all hoping, they would have had first refusal.
FFS - why does nobody choose to read the bloody article.
