Ac milan lost again and now juventus are ahead. Juventus have 65 to ac milan 64 I believe but no losses for juventus. People make a big deal about being unbeaten and its great but if you are unbeaten in the league were points at stake you could finish as low with 38 points.

Juventus have 65 now vs ac milan 64 after 31 games. They can achieve a maximum of 85 points. Man utd can still achieve 97 points and we have lost 3 times. Are ac milan going to bottle a decent season. I remember seeing juventus unbeaten a month or 2 ago and thought no way will they go unbeaten but now the finishing line is in sight and every game is a must win they could do it.
I know arsenal did it and got luck against portsmouth and man utd I believe. Reality is even though going unbeaten is great, I would prefer we won 37 out of 38 league games then draw 12 and win 26.
If man utd beat chelsea 95 point record max possible 97 for man utd this season I will be amazed. Maybe man city losing today may make us not care as much if we win the title with games to spare. I hope saf tells our players to win as there will not be another chance like this again.
Going unbeaten maybe is quite easy as man utd did it in the champions league the record. Going in the league for 38 games is incredible but trophies over going unbeaten every time. I would have preferred if we lost as many games as barcelona have in 2011 champions league campaign and 2009 campaign if it meant we won the final.
My question is going unbeaten that special afterall a draw is not a good result most of the time. If juventus do it that will be an incredible achievement if they also win the league.
Another mention is la liga real madrid have 79 points from 31 games man utd have 79 points from 32 games in the premier league. I am amazed that real have that many points this season soon as la liga is more strong this year. Barca have dropped more points then man utd this season :D and are only 4 points behind now. Barca habe lost 2 liker real have.
Moral of the article is going unbeaten is good in knockout competitions but in the league it doesn't mean much.
Juventus could go unbeaten this season

unbeaten and winning league
Of course if you are unbeaten and you don't win, which can happen there is nothing to celebrate.
If you can play 38 games and not get beaten and win the league, haji, thats some achievement.
Barca for sure have had problems away from home, theyve missed Villa. But Real are stumbling at the wrong moment. Catching a Jose team is no mean feat.

I wouldn't say the la liga is stronger this year, more that English teams done awful

Aren't they a result of each other though?

Real are bottling it. What price are Barca to win the treble? Must be worth a shout.

Whilst going unbeaten in the league is a very good achievement, for me it does not necessarily mean that a team is great to do that. As an example, the Arsenal 'invincibles' are often cited as a great team, but I believe that the other teams during Wenger's reign that were better than that team. And that Arsenal team 'only' won the league and nothing else, so in my eyes it does not make them a great team. I view teams that do the double or treble more highly than just going unbeaten in the league.

Of course trophies are better than an unbeaten league season, we should have won the treble that season and only came away with the league. If I could have swapped our unbeaten season for the CL in 04 I would have snapped your hand off.
But it is still a great achievement that I'm proud that we have.
