England squad for the Euros

Want some opinions from Arsenal fans on our Euro squad.

This is mine in full :

Hart
Robinson (would like him to come out of retirement) if not Green
DON'T NEED 3 GKs

Walker
Richards (can play cb too)

Cahill
Terry
Jones
Ferdinand

Cashley
Baines

Parker
Gerrard
Wilshere (if back)
Cleverley (wildcard)
Scholes (please come out of retirement) or Carrick
Lampard

Walcott
Lennon

Rooney
Welbeck
Crouch if Bent is definitely out

Young
Oxlade-Chamberlain

PS : Don't want G.Johnson, Barry or Milner anywhere near that squad.

I think you have to take Gerrard. He has been injured for most of the campaign, so he should be fresher for the tournament. Lampard shouldn't be anywhere near that squad.

I don't think AOC should go, the occasion might be a bit too big for him (although he hasn't shown signs of that yet for Arsenal). If Wilshere gets a few games before the season finishes (which I highly doubt he will ) then you should take him too.

Baines should definitely go, it should be a battle between Gibbs and Cole. Though I think Cole will go. Gibbs will probably be injured anyway.

You have to pick 3 keepers or lose a squad place.

ps, what a very average looking squad we will have.

Phil Jones shouldn't go.
Don't see how you can leave Carrick out for Cleverley and Scholes. It would be Scholes or Cleverley surely?

that's what I was thinking DJ, was looking what the squad could be myself the other day and it couldn't decide on the last few places out of a bunch of average players

This represents a fairly rough idea of the sort of side I'd like to take.

I'm not 100% sure on goalkeepers past Ben Foster. If Robinson could be drawn out of retirement, I'd opt for him over Stockdale, but to be honest, I find it highly unlikely that we'll use our 3rd choice at any point.

I don't think Terry's regressed as much as people make out, but I think the furore surrounding the Bridge and Ferdinand debacles are enough to justify leaving him out.

I still think Jagielka is the best English centre-back at the moment, and Smalling has been fantastic for Man Utd. Cahill is perhaps a little overrated, but he's athletic and technically gifted, so could provide a useful option against weaker opponents, to allow us to push for a slightly higher line and integrate our centre-backs into our attacking play. Ferdinand is a shadow of his former self, but still a capable centre back with a lot of experience.

If Gibbs can pick up form, then I think I'd be willing to take him over Ashley Cole. I think Baines is excellent going forward, but we need Cole or Gibbs for a more defensively sound option.

If Wilshere gets some games under his belt, then he has to go, IMO, but if not, then perhaps someone like Cleverley or Henderson can enter the fold.

Upfront, the selections of Carroll and Zamora may seem a bit strange. However, despite his lack of goals, Zamora's all-round play is excellent, and I feel he could prove a real handful to any defence.
Undecided on Carroll, and somewhat hopeful he will pick up form before the end of the season. If he does, then his power could make him our ace in the hole. If not, then naturally, it might be worth looking for replacements.

I've only opted for one natural left-winger, because to be honest, Milner, Chamberlain and Rooney can all play the role well if required.

The team would of course have to vary based on our opponents, but in general, I'd like our side to look something like this:

--------------------Hart
Richards-Jagielka-Smalling-Cole/Gibbs
-------------------Parker
------------Gerrard----Wilshere
Sturridge-------Rooney------Young

Why are people putting cleverley in when he has played like 5 games this season and not done anything good in any of them and was sheet at Bolton? Most over rated player ever

That's how bad England are Rev. Carroll
