Pie - The way i see it is that its his job to deliberately wind up fans with his ramblings to generate calls to the show, and generally they tend to succeed.

If folk didn't call the show, the phone ins would stop

LMC - Surely they have got to aim higher than that !

I know , I know, I have reacted to his show last night, so some will say that proves he is doing his job ? Wrong, next time he is on, I will switch to Real Radio or Radio Scotland. ( not saying they are much better half the time)

Can we not have some journos with half a brain who do not pander to either side, but just seek out the truth !

One of his classics last night was that he was just a simple football journo, and he did not have the time to dig into the facts like the Chennel 4 boy!

In that case, admit you know hee haw, and give up your place on the panel to someone who does, or who at least is not scared to do a bit of "digging"

LB - I agree completely with you, the standard of journalism in this country is awful, thats why i try to ignore it as best as possible now and not let it wind me up. Any journalists job is to sell papers, radio space etc, so they spout their rubbish to attract the calls. Hugh Keevins actually seems to be the best in the country at winding folk up. I think he might actually be Ishy

LMC - I know thats how it works. But if you listen to the phone ins down south they actually discuss football now and again. They don't just go for the wind up.

I wish that we had people in our media that just aimed a wee bit higher than that.

It's no wonder we've been left behind by the footballing world. They progress and we sit and wind each other up.

The thing that really gets me though, is that guys like Keevins will be making a mint (going by your avergae working persons salary) while the rest of us graft away honestly day in day out just to get by.

I know Pie, thats why we shouldn't listen and force them to do a days decent work elsewhere

The man then had to mention that he was going to the Everton v Liverpool semi !
