Blackpool Preview

Now I don't normally do match previews, well not normally of this length, but for the upcoming game this afternoon against Blackpool i will make an exception.

Now i'm sure for most Forest fans the second you mention Blackpool you will think back to that 2nd leg playoff against them 2 years ago. Blackpool had got into the playoffs pushing out Swansea on the last day of the season (who we had done the double over) but hopes were still high that we would see ourselves through, as our home form was only second to Newcastle that season, and with only a one goal deficit hopes were high, which you could sense in the city ground, with an atmosphere being made which I have not heard since, even at the Swansea playoff a year later. Now as the say the rest is history, but that game still lies heavily with all at Forest, as we feel a sense of injustice as that year was our year to be promoted, not Blackpool as it would have been unfair the year later for when Swansea deserved to go up. I can remember every game Blackpool played in the PL thinking that should be us not you, and just think of what could have been different if it had been!

I know we beat Blackpool in October, but this game for me has to be the game where we enact our revenge. i know it won't make much difference, and I know it will not be the game to decide if we go to Wembly or not, but hopefully if we do beat them today a little bit of justice would have occurred, even though that fateful day 2 years ago in may will still lie heavy in the hearts of all Forest fans until we finally reach the Premier League!

Come on you Reds!!!

I think with the team SC is putting out that we may just put the Tangerines to the sword today. Then we're safe....ish!

All you do as well Hooijdonk is come on and try and have a go at people I have realized recently. Come on your not really a Forest fan are you? It has to be a Derby fan at it. Otherwise i feel really sorry for you I really do, as if this is the only way for you to try and gain some self-confidence back, then how sad must you life be!?

I'm glad i am not you

Ok, I'll admit that was harsh. I was suffering from a very bad hangover. My apologies. However, I stand by my sentiment, but as Hoons pointed out - I could be more constructive. So here we go. The grammar, spelling, and punctuation in the post were somewhat lacking. What really bothered me, though, was the further evidence of our supporter's tendencies to live pointlessly in the past. It is far enough to speak about the cup wins, they are moment's of glory that not many clubs have equalled - we should be proud. However, to go on about revenge for a play off game against Blackpool that we 100% deserved to lose is pitiful. Why are we still even thinking about it? Look at how much has changed since then. And, more than anything, I'm completely fed up of the Billy lovers. Billy's gone. A lot of sensible people are glad he's gone, and yet a few insist on talking about him as if he is was and will again be our saviour. We should be living in the now. Cotterill is doing a decent job and I think it is sad that a lot (but by no means all) of our supporters can't appreciate that and give the guy a go. Some people are still talking about Billy coming back next season. Why? For one, it will never happen. and it would be destructive if it did. You only have to look at Mcleary recently to see that Billy never gave chances to the right type of player.
Anyway, rant over, and apologies again for the original harsh comment. Hang overs don't mix with being a frustrated Forest fan.

I had a feeling that would be the first thing again said to me. Fair point, obviously. Think disliking an old player is a bit different to hankering after an old manager when we have one here trying to do a job. Or wanting revenge on a team that outclassed us two bloody years ago. But yes.

Not knocking you really SHH just picking up on a point. SC in my opinion is doing a good job under difficult circumstances. BD talked himself out of a job at NFFC because of his outbursts to the press and the way he conducted himself. Thanks go to him for giving us a couple of good seasons but he failed us at the most important times. Never look back always look forward.
