Our backup striker

Its in games like those that we need someone who can offer some serious goal threat other than RvP... in the meanwhile, i reckon Vermaelen shud hav played striker for the last 10 mins, and djourou shud hav been left on the pitch to be the CB with Song...

for that matter, Vermaelen shud be our backup striker full stop; anybody else here feel he's FAR more of a goal threat than any of our other players, or is it just me?

plus he has decent technique, a good long shot, and of course, aerial ability...

(yes, i'm clutchin at straws, but he looked out best attack option outside Rosicky today!)
