Sir Alex Ferguson at Spurs.

Morning everyone.

I hope you're all having a good start to your Wednesday. Rather busy this morning so I'll be to the point with this article, apologises for if I come across as blunt.

I think if Sir Alex Ferguson had the Tottenham Hotspur squad on the 1st of September 2011, so immediately after the summer transfer window closed, he would have that group of players in a similar position in terms of points to where the current Manchester United team is now.

He would have done things differently, such as keep Corluka and Pienaar in January and rotated his players far more than Harry Redknapp has, and would have refined his system to get the optimum out of the players there. So you wouldn't have seen the best winger to be born out of the British Ilses since Ryan Giggs trying to play infield. At all.

The January transfer window would have gone differently for you as well, although Harry's greatest strength is I finding talented players for nothing prices, so I won't knock his transfer activity, but Sir Alex I believe would have given an already very strong squad, just what it needed to ensure it doesn't burn out with a mixture of rotation and proper reinforcement.

I realise I may come across as bashing Harry Redknapp, but I don't mean to. I've seen Sir Alex deliver so much success to my beloved Manchester United down the years, and I look at this Tottenham squad and I can't help but feel that it has a lot of similarities to a Ferguson squad, but lacking the final piece to make it champions, Ferguson himself.

Do any of you feel that he could have you competing, or better?

@Messiah Good point,This is the problem we have at the moment.Harry seems to have his favourites and wants to play them all the time.
Example Modric,King,Ade.
Next game I want to see Modric dropped,And Livermore in his place,at least he looks like he cares.
Ade Dropped and Defoe up front,King also dropped as he is just a problem now cant run and cant defend.
Nelson has looked solid when his played despite his lack of pace.

What you are basically saying is that Sir Alex is a better manager than Harry....thanks for that!

Messiah....I agree totally with that comment. I tire of Redknapp's "Spurs fans have never had it so good" attitude. It stinks of the complacency that we have shown since beating Newcastle.

i think harry is overated anyway and always have done.
Sure tottenham are doing well, but with the squad they have they should be, they have some top players who would walk into most sides and deserve credit.

However look at Harry's past positions and every team he has managed has fought against relegation at some point.

Next england manager?? i hope not.

Quite possibly Ferguson would have our squad top of the league, I mean we would have all the referees on our side and all our bad luck this season would not have happened.

Thats the reason Man Utd will win the league, Refs are scared of upsetting Ferguson and not so Mankini..... that has made the difference.

Top article although a bit overly elaborate.
Spot on with the point of it though.

Great comment Messiah- fully agree.

Barfly- yes Man United get decisions but lets not be naive and pretend that's the only reason they'll (hopefully) win the league. SAF is a winner, has a winners mentality and wouldn't tolerate a collapse like we've endured. It would have ended at least after the Everton game. Even with the dodgy decisions we've had, if SAF was in charge of our squad we would be top now.

I wouldn't drop Ade, I'd drop Modric and put VDV in CM. Yes VDV! I mean during the Chelsea game he practically played CM and to be fair, he was having a good game and was unlucky to be subbed. Ade and Defoe up front. Agree Deadly is finished. Gallas n Nelson look a safer bet. I'm also hoping come end of the season Corluka comes back. Let's be honest, he's a more solid option than Walker. Don't get me wrong, I really like Walker. But his inexperience and lack of defending at times has cost us goals! A BAE he ain't! Yet anyway
