Relegation,this time its different!

65 we got relegated because of a few different reasons ,the polio outbreak in the Blackburn area put us back many games plus Duggie was injured and Mike England went to Spurs mid season disrupted the whole defence and attack.Second to Third we lost quite a few players through injury and retirement and transfers ,small crowds little money etc.Second to third again due to a team that grew old together-Parkes fazackerly etc and the writing was on the wall. The Premiership again after Alan Shearer went it was a great exodus Sherwood Hendry etc all great players leaving in a couple of seasons left us without any sort of balance, then Woy left and Kidd took us down.Every relegation has a reason ,this time its self inflicted and for me its The Final Countdown with 4 games to go,I think we are down but this was so unnecessary its almost criminal what has happened this season!

One sure way to tell when a club is in trouble.........................the old guys start telling everybody how good it was in their day.

Duggy and myself was having a good chin wag about how we turned the dingles over on their own patch to get to Wembley. With the help of a dart player.

Louvin it guy: i just looked up your details, biblical stuff eh? Are you from Brun Lea? That will turn a person religeous sure enough . You've had some very good players in your past, Alex Elder; good full back, Angus was better almost in Keith Newton's level, Clarets were a very good team, equal to Spurs, the United of the day, I used to get very nervous when Jimmy Mac got the ball

I wasn't allowed to go t'Turf for the first game being uncharted territory east of Padiham, but my Dad said Elder autographed it.

And yes this nostalgia does hide a lousy Rovers year!
