The Leeds club might be interested in this gimmick of a game but i don't suppose that the fans from either code will be.

I like to think I keep an eye on most things involving rugby league but this comment about an NRL team playing the All Blacks at the end of the season is news to me, it certainly hasn't been mentioned at our table of knowledge up the club......I can't see a game like this being succeessful because like most of my mates, I could only name 2-3 union players of note

I think fans of both codes would be against the idea of a hybrid game, there is one anyway its called American football.

Barra, why do say say they'd be no interest. The Wigan V Bath games, both had very good attendances. I st game at Maine Road and then Twickenham. With the backing of the RFU, you'd get a good crowd in London. Let's face it the RFL couldn't organise a prayer in a mosque!!!

and what point did the Wigan v Bath shambles prove that Wigan where best at Rugby League and that Bath where best at Rugby Union, basically proved nothing.

Hi Barra, the hybrid game is something i have thought
about for years, but to make it popular to both sets of
fans would be very difficult, this playing one code in the
1st half & the other code in the 2nd half i doubt it but
i would love to see only one code of rugby, played worldwide.

Hybrid game ???? I'd do the following ................

1. Get rid of the line out.
2. Only have 6 in a scrum
3. Get rid of rucks and mauls (just guys cozying up to each other anyway!)
4. Make kicking the ball from one fullback to the other illegal after the first bout of tennis.
5. Prevent Stuart Barnes from EVER commentating on ANY form of rugby EVER again.
6. Kicking to touch only allowed 3 times in a game.
7. Instead of a line out, introduce a quicker restart (play the ball might work )
8. Forbid any hooray Henry's from taking part. Only allow proper blokes to play.
9. Have a system where the ball gets handed to the opposition at regular intervals. This prevents one team rucking/mauling endless minutes away (perhaps use a system where say after 6 tackles the ball is handed over).
10. Only allow players with names like Chris/Phil/Shane to play ...... do away with the likes of Giles/Miles/Jerry/Rory/Tristan ........ it's supposed to be a mans game.

There you go. Adopt the above - especially point 5 and i'm all in favour of a hybrid match......
