Best club side ever?

After Barcelona made mince meat of Manchester United in last years Champions League final, we all had to listen to how "theres no shame in being beaten by the best club side ever"...now having being humbled by an average Chelsea side and having just about failed to regain their La Liga title, the plaudits for Barcelona (mostly received by Man Utd fans) look somewhat premature.

So who would be your best club side ever and why?

---------Valdes--------

Alves-Pique-Puyol-Abidal

Xavi-Busquets-Iniesta

Pedro-Messi-Villa

That's the best side i have ever seen.

There are weaknesses in it for sure, Busquets being the main one, but collectively it's unrivaled as seen in 09-10.

Not forgetting Bayern Munich '74-'76.

Beckenbauer, Müller, Hoeness, Maier, Schwarzenbeck, Breitner...

It's not like he is a key player and plays a key part in Barca's system.

And more to the point the role he played for Spain winning the World Cup Final...

Pedro and Villa are a big loss for Barca.. Sanchez and Fabregas unbalance the side for me

It has to be Sacchis Milan side. That was a fantastic team which played as a team.

They absolutely destroyed Barcelona in the European Cup final 4-0.

Played in phases and took their chances when they came.

Barca have just suffered more this season to injury, that's all.

Abidal, Pedro, Piqué, Afellay and Villa all missing for varying periods.

The youngsters they have used are all promising but none are as good as they players they have been filling in for.

And don't forget across the two legs Barca still hit the woodwork 4 times. On another day they would have won but it was just Chelsea's turn.

Arsenal weren't far from knocking them out last year either, playing a completely different style to Chelsea.

They are still the best team around, they have just lost a slight clinical edge in the last month because of injury/tiredness.

Real are the most clinical team around nowadays, and that is why they will win the CL this season. They don't control games like Barca but they can score from anywhere at any time, making them more dangerous at the moment.

Barca will be back.
