DONCASTER Rovers today confirmed the appointment of Gavin Baldwin as their new chief executive.
Baldwin took over as interim chief executive following the departure of Dave Morris in March.
The 43-year-old has now been handed the reins on a permanent basis as Rovers look to bounce back from relegation to League One.
Baldwin has been working at Rovers for the last six months developing the club’s business model.
He is thought to be keen on developing a Sporting Club which would see several of the town’s sports clubs come together under the Doncaster Rovers banner.
Baldwin said: “This is a very exciting time for Doncaster Rovers and I am looking forward to working with the team to build a strong future for the club.
“Relegation is disappointing for any club but we will bounce back.
“I have always had a passion for sports and this is a fantastic opportunity for me to share my expertise and experience with a professional football club which takes me back to my roots.
“Over the coming weeks we will be developing strategies which will see us working closely with fans to help to deliver a club that remains at the heart of the local community."
Chairman John Ryan said: “We are delighted that Gavin has accepted this opportunity to lead the club into a new era.
“He brings with him a great deal of industry knowledge but more importantly he has a history of successes and is passionate about seeing Doncaster Rovers back where they should be in the Championship.
“He will be a great asset to the club."
Baldwin is an ex-assistant director at Doncaster Council and he was formerly chief executive of the Keepmoat Stadium and The Dome.

Didn't want to say I told you so, but I told you so.
Touche` ionly, there are few younger than I, but at least I admit it. Then again they do say that the older you get the wiser you get. I must be the wisest person on this site!!!!!!

The alternative to getting older isnt very appealing.
Lets hope we all continue to get older.

Mr Baldwin seems to have good senior level council experience - very valuable at the present time and I like the fact that he seems keen to engage with fans to seek their input - let's hope that some good ideas are generated and adopted!

Crazy, if you go on the Rovers website you will find a survey about the expwerience at the Keepmoat. This came from talks between Baldwin and VSC. I recommend that all supporters fill out the survey and give him the chance to improve the club as far a game days are concerned.

Yes, thanks NY - I was aware of the survey. It's a good first step. I'll certainly be completing it.
