PREMIER League chief Richard Scudamore insists Blackburn Rovers’ owners Venky’s ‘abide by the rules’ as they continue to come under heavy criticism.
Defeat at home to Wigan Athletic on Monday could confirm Rovers’ relegation from the Premier League, with the Venky’s stewardship of the club coinciding with a downturn in fortunes on the pitch over the past 18 months.
Rovers fans have previously called for the league to look into Venky’s control of the Ewood Park outfit but Premier League chief executive Scudamore is adamant they have done nothing wrong.
He said: “It’s not been a great season for them. It is entirely right that fans are able to express their concerns. It is entirely right that clubs have to have a dialogue with fans. But do they (Venky’s) abide by the rules? Yes they do.
“Are they law-abiding people who are putting their money in? Yes they are.
“The decisions they take is entirely their concern.
“They (Venky’s) do have dialogue.’’
Well, there you have it. Apparently we were completely wrong about Venky's and they are actually decent owners by Premier league standards.
Venky's 'have abided by rules'

Decent for us must be their thinking. Would be a different story had it been any of the big guns, they would have been slated.

I think the point he's trying to make is that whilst what Venky's are doing is morally wrong, they can't intervene until they've done something legally wrong, which so far they haven't to the best of my knowledge (unless Anderson is still sniffing around).

Disgraceful if expected comment from the head of an agency solely concerned with its own wealth and power. They blatantly aren't putting any of their own money in and their "dialogue" this season has been totally non-existent since christmas. But why should the PL care when there are 3 clubs from the Championship all bigger than Rovers likely to take our place next season.

There are no rules saying owners have to spend there own money

Indeed there aren't but some of Venkys other activity looks highly suspicious. The huge pay-outs to agents this season, making £10m on players and yet posting an £18m loss in the last financial year, the rumoured loans they've taken out mortgaged against the club. The FA/PL have had plenty of ammunition to suggest an investigation is necessary but basically they don't don't wanna spend any money doing one because they don't care.
To then start spouting bull**** about Venkys spending their own money, whether they have to or not, just adds insult to injury.

Technically, they aren't breaking any Premier League rules in their behaviour. However, this speaks more about how poor the fit and proper persons test is than how good our owners are.

The purchases of services from any one connected with Anderson/kentaro etc requires investigation or at least a visible review, and if legitimate, no party should have problem with this. Sad thing is it seems that none of them with the power to do this give a to55 about our little club.
Come on powers that be, a review just to put the matter to bed must be worth it just to prove the whole system's foundations are solid and prove the conspiracy theorists wrong!
