Frimpong has become a cultural icon thanks largely to twitter. Being the third most followed Arsenal footballer with his own catchphrase and line of clothing, his off-field presence has eclipsed his limited on-field exploits.
But this sudden rise to fame has led to his mistakes being highlighted a lot more than they would otherwise and his latest one has turned a few heads. You may not have noticed but on Friday night, during his trip to Africa, he took a picture which, when posted on Twitter caused quite the backlash. The picture was of a pretty gruesome looking corpse with the line "This is what happens when you steal in Africa" posted alongside it.
Now, when you have over a million people checking out your Twitter page, you're going to upset a lot of people doing something like that. The picture was removed fairly quickly and an apology made in its place but the damage was already done.
I really enjoy social media bringing the fans and the players closer together but does it offer too much exposure too soon for some of the younger players? Frimpong seems to lack maturity which is to be expected from a 20 year old but I think a voice that reaches so many people is a lot of responsibility and I doubt he's up to the task at his young age.
It's a tricky one. A fair few managers have put their foot down and banned their players using Twitter all together. I can help but feel that's a little heavy handed but what do all you lovely people think of that approach?
Poor Decision From Frimpong

Don't you have to be 14 to have your own twitter account?

I'm willing to bet you were not 18 the first time you saw an "adult film".

Yea but it is the parent's fault if their 10 year old kid can get on to twitter and look at whatever he or she wants. Not Frimpong's.

Frimpong should just grown up and stop being idiot, even without the picture saga, he's so ghetto it's unreal!!!!!

Don't know what is up with the Frimpong fascination. An average footballer who clearly isn't the sharpest tool in the box

TBH he is a complete tool. Some gooners think he is a class act becuase he is is a true gooner himself. Sorry he is an average player with a big mouth and massive opinion of himself

He's still got a very long way to go before he is the finished article. That arrogance may pay dividends so long as he still works hard. Could be a very useful player next season.

The next game he plays for Arsenal he'll get sent off for trying to force his stupid t shirts on the opposition players.

The guy is an idiot.
Laughable that people to suggest he has a future with Arsenal.

He is judged off his personality because everyone spoke of his promising future a while back and nw he's suddenly average.
No average player gets tipped for big things by the 'World Class' Riquelme. It's up to Frimmy to knuckle down and become something because he is capable
