ATP Matches Of The Day: Rome 2012, Day 3

Lots of interesting lineups today. Some notable ones are the following:

1. David Nalbandian (ARG)
v
[4] Andy Murray (GBR)

Nalby was a off color yesterday against Ramos. He finished the job, but wasn't very convincing. Murray is coming back from an "injury". I don't know who will prevail in this match. A shotmaker's game depends a lot on "form of the day" and hence can fluctuate. Pushers will have just about a constant level of wait-for-errors stamina game. Nalby will hit many but will make many daft errors. Murray will do nothing but wait-and -watch how Nalby goes by. So the match is up to Nalby to win or lose. I want Nalby as always.

2. [1] Novak Djokovic (SRB)
v
Bernard Tomic (AUS)

Interesting 2nd round match. Djo should take it easily, but we can have some interesting few games in between.

3. [6] David Ferrer (ESP)
v
Fernando Verdasco (ESP)

Verdasco must still be suffering from "post ecstatic form disorder" after that win over Nadal and will lose very easily again today.

4. [10] Juan Martin Del Potro (ARG)
v
Michael Llodra (FRA)

On this clay, Llodra has no chance.

5. Viktor Troicki (SRB)
v
[5] Jo-Wilfried Tsonga (FRA)

A match-up of players-in-decline. Mental muppet troicki won't win it, Tsonga will.

6. Juan Carlos Ferrero (ESP)
v
[13] Gael Monfils (FRA)

I want Ferrero to win this.

7. 16] Richard Gasquet (FRA)
v
Jurgen Melzer (AUT)

I'm going with Melzer.

8. [15] Feliciano Lopez (ESP)
v
Marcel Granollers (ESP)

who cares about this match??

Scary

Yes, already then Gav liked to use his power. He is a very immature person for a 30 or 40yo. I amazed to see childish behaviour like that in adults.

That's even scarier....yet it does not surprise me in the least. I see that every day.
Sadly, very few adults grow up on the inside

You are clear, but to me don't come across as a passionate fan

No I don;t think you are objective Amri cause you are a real fan. Like I have been myself.

It's the difference between trying to find all the arguments to justify our choice of players and seeing all what we like in tennis in a player we might not necessarily like.

An example is I was a Borg's fan and hated McEnroe. I could find all the reasons to like Borg and dislike McEnroe. I used every details to justify my choice.

But when I grew up, I loved McEnroe's game, certainly much more than Borg's but still didn't like him as a person. Well I actually ended liking him a bit.

The style of a player and his personality are actually very linked so we tend to associate both and like or dislike both.

But sometimes it doesn;t work like that. I like Nalbandian's game 10 times more than him. Worse with Justine Henin.

You are a fan of Nadal but are completely blanking or excusing his behaviour on court and off-court too.

"No one asked you."

People with manners usually address the person they ask a question, otherwise it's open to anybody, just like you look a at people you talk to.

With attitude like yours no wonder you struggle.

I think you a real Federer fan Tenez. But you use negative cohesion as your main force; eg I feel you brin down Nadal to put Federer up.
Would you see that as fair?

As for the personality/style issue; I think you're spot on there. I love a fighter, someone who you know will do everything he can to find a way. When you are feeling down, or in a difficult position I can always look up to Rafa for inspiration.

As for his behaviour, off court I think generally behaves superbly, always giving credit to his opponent, but still gives his opinion of he feels strongly about something, even if not everyone will agree with him. On court I recognise he has routines that could be annoying, it's up to the ATP to stop that.

Don't expect an answer amri with this kind of attitude. You may post here but you will quickly find yourself talking to a wall.

Well I quoted NITB's post. The referred to her as 'you.'
Apologies of it want clear I was talking to her, but then 10 min later she referred to me as 'you' as well rather than Amritia. I don't understand what the fuss is about, she can call me 'you' if she wants to I don't care.
