What's happened with Jack Rodwell?

He was being praised as the future of English football a season or so ago, along with Wilshere, Jones and co.

I know he's has injuries, but that can't be all there is to it? Was hoping some Everton fans could explain what's gone on with his career to me a bit. Seems strange that a player Sir Alex was very keen on trying to bring to Old Trafford not long ago could fall off the radar like he has.

Is it just a case of him not maintaining the high standards he set himself?

another over hyped player, glad we never paid the reported 25 million for him.

Seriously 25 million

Tbh, when I saw him play I did think he could become a very good player. Style somewhere in between Carrick and Keane. Owen Hargreaves without the pretty hair. £10m or so would have been my figure though.

He has had serious hamstring injuries or something like that this season, which has caused him to miss most of the season.

He is good when he has played though. Just not worth the money that is quoted in the papers. So I wouldn't really want him playing at United.

He had a string of injuries, and never go himself back to full fitness, I think he was coming back too soon each time.

Also I think too much has been asked of him too soon in his career.

1) He was over-hyped.
2) He is always injured.

He could be a decent PL player, but as with the likes of Downing, Carroll, Sturridge, Jones, he has a few good games and he is the new saviour of English football.

When in actual fact, he never be as good as the likes of Tiote, Fellani and co who cost a third of the price.

It was a mixture of injuries and actually not being as good as he was hyped up to be. He's an intelligent and reasonably talented defensive midfielder, but no way in the world was he ever worth £25m.

The lad has been seriously unlucky with injuries and due to other injury problems and a severe lack of ability in the centre of the park he has been rushed back into central midfield. My view is that he will be moved back to centre back eventually, like Jags before him who had to play central midfield for Sheff Utd before establishing himself as a centre back. He'll make an outstanding centre back, £25 million was a ridiculous price, but then we need that kind of money to keep going so that is why we nearly always get a premium for our better players or prospects. God knows what we would have got if Rooney was coming through now, especially if Carroll is worth £35 million!!

He was valued by LFC at £35million,every man and his dog knows his true worth falls way short of that price tag

Done! Considering that's the price being touted for Baines to United
