Before a ball was kicked you are told

4th place is the minimum expected. You have a squad of players of which £100million plus worth were brought in by you.You end up 8th and win a domestic cup in the process and feel yourself that your first full season was a success.Your owners think otherwise and you end up being sacked.

Are the owners being ruthless or are they just saying the target was not reached, but not reached by such a margin that the only course is to sack you.

Are you justified to think 8th and a cup win deserves another 12 months in charge.

Will your former owners say to the new incoming manager 4th is the minimum requirement and make that sentiment public.

If so would this target/ultimatum make potential managers think twice.

If the new manager does not get such a target would you think to yourself I've been treated badly.

Your owners have put themselves in an interesting position as every move they make will be scrutinised by not only the fans but the press. They will be judged in the future on what they did on the 16th May 2012 to Kenny Dalglish. If they stick to targets and managers fail is there going to be a procession of managers going through the Shankly gates. If they give the next manager more time than Kenny how will the fans react

Don't you usually keep all your LFC articles on the Everton board to liven it up?

Lets get one thing straight!

The fans will always come last whoever,FSG are a business and not a charity, and if they feel their investment is not providing them with what they want, they will act accordingly.

The fans are an after thought, thats football in the modern age.

The fact is, the league is always what teams will be judged on. We finished closer to relegation than top four. Say's it all really. IMO we should have kept Kenny for another year and give him a chance to right his wrongs but the Americans obviously don't have time for that and want to see instant improvement.
