Is there anyone actually checking this board? I know not a lots going off at the moment but it seems a little bit of a wasteland to me.......It felt like when they had the site sorted it was going to kick on, I dunno maybe they're waiting until the start of the season until they can really judge it.
Can any of the admin shed any light on what your doing to promote it, numbers etc?
Our club and Leicester offer an good example of contrasting fortunes (literally) in the championship, they are spending a boatload and we have got no money so are having to scrimp and save......does anyone know what the record is for the biggest outlay for a championship club in a close season? Leicester must be getting pretty close to it now.
For me the contrast in spending highlights a sad state of football, as a Barnsley fan I'm used to being in the championship, I like it here, I know were not big enough for the premiership (save maybe the odd season here and there) and that doesn't bother me. When I was growing up in the 90's I know there were bigger clubs than others, but at least everyone more or less had a fair crack at getting promoted.
Now its turning into two leagues, those with cash and the rest who haven't left to fight it out. We will never ever be able to compete with a club like Leicesters spending power, I don't think it's good at all that this can be allowed in the championship. I'm not bitter about having no money and I don't begrudge Leicester fans the satisfaction and the excitement of being able to attract big players. I'm happy with our policy of searching the lower leagues and developing players mixed in with a couple with championship experience, I just think that the gap between our two situations is too much and it's only going to get wider.
I understand that at the top of the Premiership then it will always be contested between the few biggest teams, fair enough, but this is now filtering down through the leagues and creating an un-equal playing field.
I personally think football is being ruined, if it keeps going the way it is then I'm not sure I will have much interest in it in 10 years, which for a Barnsley fan of 23 years is pretty sad and hard to say.
JA606, Leicester and others........

HaHa how many responses will this article about poor traffic get. Is the axiomatic answer not noneo? Although i posted on it so i guess not. There's a dramatic drop in response speed compared with 606classic even on the rangers and Celtic boards which were usually buzzin. I tend to just click football and talkshit on everyone's board.

Ha well there you, I was hoping I might draw a few out of the woodwork with that truly thought provoking insight into the plight of the average championship football supporter.
Or something like that, yeah.....

I see you've also posted on Tykesmad and note your comments. I chose to post on 606 in preference to both Tykesmad and the BBS because there seem to be fewer loonies, but I read all 3 on a daily basis.
JA606 might be a little slow at the moment but I expect it to pick up once the season starts, most of the old regulars seem to have moved over and although I don't agree with some of their opinions they are mostly made in a coherent and reasonable way.
I'll be sticking with this board!

i agree with dave, when pre-season freindlies start and we see new players for first time it will be just like old 606. At the moment there int much to talk about on reds front till they get back from spain and hill makes his final signings.

I hope so, I think this has got the potential to be good, it's always slow in pre season...

The old 606 wasn't much cop in the close season either but this could be an interesting season coming up. It seems that j606 is the natural successor.
