Envy (also called invidiousness) is best defined as an emotion that "occurs when a person lacks another's (perceived) superior quality, achievement, or possession and either desires it or wishes that the other lacked it."

I'm surprised Leeds fans can be bothered to visit this board. You'd think they'd be too wrapped up in discussing their own sprightly transfer targets: Smith, Woodgate and Bowyer. What next, I wonder? I hear Allan Clarke may be available on a free.
With that kind of forward-looking policy, they could be in for a really exciting era. I hear they're already dubbing next season's youth-oriented side "Larry's Lambs".

We don't envy you. We bested you last season and shall do this season. Buying every player going does not a good team make. Just ask Man City.

Is that the Man City that have just won the FA Cup and qualified for the Champions League?

If buying these players makes us no better than Man City, I will be heartbroken

"Buying every player going does not a good team make. Just ask Man City."
One of the worst arguments I've ever seen.

Yeh they've been buying every player going for the last 4-5 years and have won one trophy. I'd say that's a terrible investment. If you don't go up this season those players signed on a promise of promotion won't be too happy.

You've got to be having us on, right? We've acquired six players, two of them from third flight clubs, the rest from the Championship, the cheapest a free, the most expensive an 'eventually rising to' £5m and you're comparing this to Manchester City's spending over "the last 4-5 years"?
Peltier (Huddersfield), Dann (Palace), Schemeichel (Leeds), St Ledger (Preston), Nugent (free agent, ex-Portsmouth) and Mills (Reading). Yes, I can easily see the comparison with the six Man City signed in summer 2009: Barry, Santa Cruz, K Touré, Adebayor, Tévez and Lescott. My, we have done well. And the Mancs paid £100m for theirs!
But seriously now, are you not aware that we had so many loan players last season that there were times we had six of them on the pitch, and that often our whole back four were loanees? Did you not expect that we'd be buying that kind of number of permanent players this summer?

Hey your fans seem to be the ones that are going on about rich owners and buying all these player and that with them you'll win the league. It seems your fans are the ones who need to be told you're not Man City.

Well done Biscuit, you got out of that one brilliantly.

Not trying to get out of anything. I compared you to Man City because your fans seem to think that's who you'll be like.
You may be near the top but I doubt you'll do what QPR did or better yet what we did (we did it without the millions)
