Would Djoko choose wimby over French

You may disagree but If we accept that Djokovic is now established as a grand slam winner and has surpassed the stage in his career where he is still looking to make his mark I think it would it also be safe to assume that his end of career slam tally has now entered his mind.

I think once a multiple grandlsam winner thinks like this they start to adjust their level of tennis in order to maximise their games for certain tournaments and particularly so for grandlsams.

Whilst its obvious that the top players have a long term (or seasonal) approach, I guess the thought must have entered his mind as to which he would rather win if he couldn’t win both.

Assuming that Djoko is now thinking of his end of career grandlsam tally don’t you think he would rather have a greater number of Wimbledon trophies than French ? Ideally both but perhaps it has entered his mind that he cant win both. I don’t think it is disputed that the French and Wimbledon are too close together and setting aside the changes to the grass they are still only a few weeks apart and it is still a very big ask to win both back to back. Bar fed in 09 and Nadal in 2010 has it been done since Borg ? Maybe im wrong and if so I stand corrected.

I guess the point I’m making is that somewhere in his thinking I reckon Djokovic has thought that an exhausting French open might hinder his chances at Wimbledon. Perhaps this would cause him to hold back at the French on the basis that he would rather rack up more Wimbledon titles.

All of the above is of course based on the assumption that Djokovic values Wimbledon more than the French. My view is that most players (maybe with the exception of Nadal or kuerten and the Brugera types) do value Wimbledon as a greater grand slam than the French Open.

Either way and of no relevant to my own post i just hope the great man Federer wins the lot.

5-3 now.
Djokovic will have to break Nadal at 5-4 if he holds his service game to stay in the tournament.
