FSG...ABSOLUTELY CORRECT!

Let me just say this;

"FSG effectively saved Liverpool FC from disaster, since they have become custodians for LFC they have invested in the squad, sort to establish the best way forward for a 60K+ stadium and given a legend a shot at managing this team. Now, QUITE RIGHTLY they have instigated a due process method of establishing the best AVAILABLE young managers around, taken proper care and attention and considered all options....a text book way to find a candidate for a top position"

This is no "quick" fix; think of it as if you had to hire a childminder for you precious daughter; wouldnt you want to take the care and time to make sure everything was correct, everything was looked at in detail? I would...and have.

Have no worries people, our precious football club is in good hands and it looks like we have one of the most impressive young managers around in charge.

My only worry is that when we signed the calibre of player such as Torres, Alonso, Garcia, Arbeloa this was down to Rafa, when we signed a player such as Suarez this was mostly down to the work of Commolli.

Rodgers will get my support but i do worry that without a DOF he may struggle to attract the best players to LFC. Eg instead of the new xabi alonso we may get Joe Allen!

if it's Van Gaal for DoF, I don't think we should have a problem in securing big players.

Brendan Rogers may be a better manager than what we're made to believe, after all he did work under the best manager in the world (Jose Mourinho). I like his style of play, its quick, its one touch, has a bit of flair and his Swansea side was very powerful. What could he do with arguably better players at his disposal?
I don't we're as far off 4th place as some would make us believe. A little bit of tweaking and the signing of 3-4 new players could see a massive difference. I also would like us to win a trophy, as thats the real motivator for players.
League finishes are okay, but its medals that motivate. Lets not forget Kenny did get us to two cup finals winning one.
Progress should be getting in the top four and winning silverware. Then with the players we can attract by being a CL side, then we can go on a title assault.
Some may suggest that we cannot compete with the financial power of Chelsea, nobody knows exactly how financially powerful our owners are. They may well flex their muscles when we are in the CL.

A new area, fed up of people always looking backwards to solve the ills.
Interesting times ahead,if the fans push from the start behind the new guys, things could be pretty good,if not we'll be back to square one.

Yeah i can see that, but this is Liverpool FC with Agger, Gerrard, Reina, Suarez etc; if Liverpool can sell the project i dont think we have too many problems.

There are loads of players not in the CL from spain and Germany, Italy etc. Liverpool only need one top player and i am sure plenty will come.

As an example Atletico Bilbao, Madrid and Villarreal all finished way down la liga, there must be 1 or 2 top players we could have from them:

Javi Martinez
LLorrente
ker Muniain
M Senna (relegated)
Borja Valero (relegated)

GB, I admire your optimism but if Martinez and Rodgers are the best young managers around why are we the only ones interested in them?

They may be great managers one day - or equally they might not. Remember George Burley taking Ipswich to 5th in their first season back in the prem and he was named manager of the year. Where is he now?

The owners ethos is to get young people with potential in who will demand relatively low wages. Hasn't proved too successful on the pitch so far. Maybe we're due a lucky break

Who else needs a manager?

CFC, A Villa? CFC want a more experiened manager (i would suggest) after their AVB disaster. It could be ironic that after £13M spent on AVB as a young upcoming manager, it is actually Liverpool that choose the right candidate for £4/5M....hopefully

exciting times ahead...so long as you (the owners & fans) give the man some time.

Another teams fan speaking a lot more sense than many of our own

The new manager hasn't even arrived yet (whoever he is), and some fans are writing him off.
Whoever we get, whether it's Rodgers, Martinez, Rafa, or whoever...I will support them 100% for the next season and wait to see how it goes before I judge them.

One of the most prestigious positions in world football, and hardly anyone knows the two contenders.

I admire everyone's optimism here,I really do.
