To be fair to slm he's simply been saying why he'd like to see Modric come to united and why he thinks he's a good player, albeit repeatedly, but cp was constantly peddling all sorts of nonsense about his sources and inside info about Wesley arriving imminently as if it was essentially guaranteed.

I'd rather someone posted their opinions about a player on a sports forum, even if frequently, rather than make a load of stuff up to sound like you have secret reliable sources

CP was more annoying, but if SLM keeps it up throughout the summer and then says 'we should have got him' whenever we fail to win a game next season, he may overtake him.

I rate Modric. No way in hell would I spend £40m on him, but he plays in the deep playmaker position which we could strengthen. At least SLM understands Modric's role, even if he does bang on about him quite a bit.

Don't forget saf must have seen something positive in him during training for him to have thrown Park in against City, not forgetting, that was the only game he played this year.

He played in 3 Europa league games (the 3 we lost), Newcastle 9(lost)and also Stoke at the end of Jan (won) but still, hardly enough to warrant a place v City

I think slm is getting much criticism in this case largely because many united fans don't seem to rate Modric. This is ensuring more people get annoyed because slm does rate him. In my kind not on the same scale as cps annoying articles about his sources and using public info to tel us things we already know as if they are something secret and new.

Virtually everything he writes about United is negative.

When Chelsea beat Barca he was the forst on here going on about how their tactics were better than ours when in truth, the games were pretty identical with Barca just finishing better in our games. He couldn't resist comingon here having a pop at Sir Alex about the Wembley game despite it being a year ago

Oh don't get me wrong macca, I'm not sticking up for those views generally, I was just commenting on the topic in hand re him and Modric v cp and wes. Personally I found the latter more annoying.

More generally, as you know Im def very anti this constant slating of our players, especially knee jerk reactions like those against e.g. De Gea, or perhaps posters regularly showing little 'support' for the club or it's actions and seemigly complaining all the time, but that's a different discussion to this thread. Tbh I find hippo one of the more annoying posters in that respect anyway. I doubt that guy will be happy with united until messi lines up alongside, Ronaldo, Ozil and Rooney.
