So, the above esteemed body has decided that it has no plans to investigate the racial abuse suffered by Dutch player duringc their warm up training session in Krakow, but, as Platini has publicl declared, Balotelli will be yellow carded if he walks off having been the victim of racial abuse.
Continuity, leadership, consistency, resolute, don'cha just luv it!!!!
That Platini fella's got all the makings of getting well on up in FIFA, he seems an ideal candidate. All he's got to do now is cop some dosh under the table - I hope he doesn't - and he'll be welcomed in with open arms !!
You really couldn't make it up could you. JimmyTheRed

to be honest i don't think there is a lot uefa can do other than put pressure on national federations with fines and potential bans until they deal with the issues. i would agree with the fines handed out are pitiful.
as for the bookings, as strange as it might be in this instance it is very clear in the rules that if a player leaves the playing area without permission of the referee for any reason, it is a yellow card offence.
i also still don't buy into the sanctamonious preaching by our media over things like this. the policing reports out every year do still show people are still being arrested at matches in this country for racial chanting and who knows how many more are getting away with it. it is like john barnes said in his interview, all the laws in the world won't stop people being racist its just with the many cctv cameras in grounds these days the culprits have learnt just to be quiet for 90 minutes.
education is the only way to beat racism, unfortunately those in charge of such things have got it completely wrong and just reinforce the idea that we are somehow different just because of the colour of your skin.

UEFA and the Dutch FA have been in contact in which the Dutch FA decided they didn't want to report it.
I'm not sure where that leaves UEFA, as I presume they'd need the Dutch FA to report it, giving witness accounts etc.

Aaardave, I agree with a lot of what you're saying, but you cannot compare the 50 odd arrests a year over here with the thousands that chant at games week in, week out over there.
----------------------------------------
the point i was trying to make is, take away the cctv, the security etc as a means of identifying exactly who was responsible (ticketing/seat numbers etc) and you'd see a substantial rise in chants in this country. the racism is still there its just not as overt as it is in some other countries. the only way it is ever going to be beaten is by educating people to change their opinions, not punishing people for having those opinions and by that i don't mean one of those pseudo-hippy tolerance camps.

They're had what, six years to put the pressure on the Ukraine and Poland FA's/goverments to sort out their issue of racism and nothing has been done.
---------------------------
Agree with this. Governments will take steps if they are pressured.
FIFA have forced Brazil to change their law banning the sale of alcohol at matches so that FIFA can keep their sponsor (Budweiser) happy. If they were serious about racism they could take constructive steps rather than placing the onus on the ref to make a decision.
