HISTORY

So having watched the 2 semi finals yesterday ( or today as I had to watch the re-runs), what do we make of the robotic serbians chances in the final?

ja606 tennis experts thought that Ferrer was the form man on clay and was going to give the King of Clay a good game. I always thought that comment was ridiculous and hey presto.

Powerful hitting to all corners of the court caused Ferrer to look like a second rate player ( that is what he really is anyway ) and Rafa slaughtered him.

I loved his backhand overhead smash, and some of his net play was a breath of fresh air. He is a battler who will stay out on court for 6 hours if he has to, although he won't as he will dismantle Djokovic in straight sets, who will give up half way through the second set as he will realise his game ( which has been attrocious in Paris) will look silly against the King of Clay.

Let the Nr.7 French Open Champion celebrations begin. Such is the superiorty of the man (as Earl says, he is a Monster on Clay), because defeat is out of the question, and I love it.

Almagro is quite a handy clay courter and fair play to him to get to the QFs to meet Rafa.

Played 52 matches at Paris, Won 51 matches.

Nothing is new here.

I like the way some of the posters, who seem to know little about tennis tbh, criticize Rafa Nadal for being a super fit and strong person.
When did that ever become a bad thing in top level sport?

Looks like your opinions have been realised.

Congrats to Rafa, whatever the h8ters say, he has style and guile, and a ton of heart too.

Here's to the next RG win to make it a nice 8 on his shoes.

Almost Jubbs but I am not sure it went quite as easily as I expected.

Last night, when Djokovic was reeling off 8 games in a row we had one hell of a match on our hands and I felt that Rafa had lost a little control.
Whether it was a temporary blip or not we will never ever find out.

Today he came out, broke Djokovic straight away and then won the game, winning 6:3 today.

He is awesome, I love watching the way he plays tennis, love watching him as a person and can't wait for the French Open next year.

Djokovic is on the decline, Feds is totally finished and Andy Murray will never win a major despite his best efforts.

Vamos Rafa.

This French Open was an excellent tournament and it will be interesting to see how Seppi and Tsonga go from this. They both did superbly?

He set very high standards last year jonty? So he has slipped a notch already, and it will continue.

Just a truck drivers opinion mind

Or you could look at it that he only reached semis last year and this year went one stage further...

In Paris yes. He also beat Rafa seven times in a row which is slowly becoming ancient history. I have not seen him on the winners rostrum for a while now ( Rafa makes sure of that) and he seems to be getting more and more frustrated and petulant as his game declines.
Just watched the fourth set re-run today, and think his best shots were when he hit his own head hard several times with the racket. What was that all about?
Do we know if the organisers at RG have managed to repair the chair he damaged yesterday too?
Have they put up the "low flying tennis rackets" sign yet, whenever he plays?

He is on the slide.

That's the funniest thing I've read on here. A little harsh, but funny
