LDL Could be the reason or it could be that I resent posters constantly and unfairly criticising the club I support so I answer those criticisms. Who knows?

well koppie there is answering and then there is abusive.
You still haven't told me why you think the joke above is sick humour. Its a joke about our lack of signings and how some of the coaching staff might have to play nothing more,i still haven't given up on a few decent signings but that doesnt mean i cant joke about it.if you dont think its funny then say so and move on but that doesnt give you the right to be abusive

I based my selection on what we have right now. Bruce played cm for ipswich and I thought he should have played there last year. Lees is a top prospect and there is no better time to blood him. Can't do worse than amy of last years centre backs.

Carlos, I didn't think O'Brien was the answer when we signed him and I haven't been impressed since....I hope Lees can breakthrough somewhere.

LDL..Well it obviously isn't nearly funny. It isn't fair, it isn't constructive in fact with the numptys we have all squealing like girls because we haven't signed anyone yet it's calculated to stir the natives into unrest and that could do untold damage.
Apart from that it's a wonderful post.

It was difficult to be impressesed with any of the back 5 last term. Mostly, as I have expressed before down to the lack of a shield in front of them. OB with the rest of last years defenders have a bit to prove this year.
The beauty of playing lees early would be that he doesn't have a lot to live up to and less pressure because of it.

Carlos, I think whether Lees plays or not will be an indicator of how much pressure Grayson feels under, could be a tough old start to the season for him.

Carlos interesting that you rate lees ahead of obrien, what is your reasoning there?
Not sure bruce is any good, but maybe he might just fit there.
I'd drop Nunez and have Somma up top with Becchio.
Does no one rate Paynter then even though Grayson says he's going nowhere?

Jonty...and would that be before you knew who you were playing against and what style you'd have to play and if there were any injuries?
I suppose you learnt that tactic on the Subuteo cloth but apart from an injured flicker, which I'm told can be quite painful, players tend not to get injured on there.

I'm a big fan of playing youngsters as soon as they are ready to be tested.
OB came in and was very good, got a contract and tailed off. I believe it was coincidental rather than him being lazy, but he still dropped off form and fitness wise.
My preference for Lees. Lets not forget that even in the under 16s the standard in football terms is very high. The step up from there to u18, then reserves, then first team seem massive but it isn't (relatively). The way I see it is that if your good enough at 18-20 you should be pushing for a spot. If your not you shouldnt be at the club. Harsh but were not a creche.
I agree about Bruce in midfield, but it was simply in the context of the post. Ironically now I would put Brown in there.
Nunez out, Somma in and 442. Why the hell not. More options the better. The extra man in midfield just gives a bit more balance I feel though and when were under the cosh only leaves one upfront. Strategy and formation shouldn't be game by game though, but changed as and when needed (hope your reading larry, my number is 079*********)
Paynter never looked good enough last year in the opportunities he had. Similar to Bessone in a way. I need my mind changeing by both.
