eminem was great early on and is ok now but when you compare his stuff to albums like 'straight outta Compton' and 'n1gg@z4life' by NWA there's no comparison, eminem and jay-z are the only modern hip hop artists i can listen to now

If you're going to mention old school hip hop group names at least pick the elite ones like; A Tribe Called Quest, De La Soul, Wu Tang, The Roots, Hieroglyphics Crew, Boot Camp Clik, The Juice Crew...

Oh yes they were.
Probably only bettered by PE. Definitely finer than those on your list - especially after the first three namechecked (ATCQ, DLS and TWTC) the latter namechecked were minor league at best
