Yeah defo Seth Johnson, considering we were also looking at Frank Lampard (then of West Ham, having just signed Rio from them). But opted for Seth instead???!!!!
Could have changed the course of our history. Imagine if we had Lampards goals in midfield may have made Champions league again!

That would have been unbelievable if we got Lampard. The Seth one was such a odd transfer. What about:
Fowler and Robbie Keane
The amazing thing is that we could have been league champions by 2003 if the powers that be played their cards right!

At the time David oleary said Lampard wasn't worth the money, even though Risdale said the money was there.

Seth Johnson has to be one of the most overrated players ever.
It was almost as if he had to be a good player because he derived from the famous Crewe conveyor belt of young talent.
Johnson's attributes were thus: he got booked a lot, was injury prone, mediocre talent.
Seth Johnson was a perfect example of people spending money just for the sake of it and we all know where that ended up and we as a club are still suffering for it.
Shocking signing.

The Seth Johnson one was a club giving out ridiculous money for anyone that said they'd wear the shirt!..
We got lots of players at that time on the wages that'd have players these days jumping through rings, but like him, they wouldn't be worth it!..
Sounds a lot like players we're getting these days, except if these players were earning that then maybe they'd show a bit of ambition!.
