With it looking increasingly likely that we plan to buy a RB this summer, perhaps as a replacement to Ivan should he leave to pastures new, or whether we are looking to have an alternative to him, I though I'd point you in the direction of an article someone made on the Shed.
-------------
Good morning! I had a scan of the transfer market for a possible solution of our right back problem, so this is what I came up with:
Possibilities:
01) Micah Richards (almost 24, Man City, 20m) - he's not a first choice right back at City, he's english, but he's injury prone & City wouldn't sell him to us.
02) Kyle Walker (22,Spurs, 15m) - he's the best option for us IMO if we can get him from spurs somehow. He's exactly what we need, he's english, but same story as with Richards, don't think spurs will sell him to us. Although we should try go all guns blazing for him while there's uncertainty at spurs at the moment.
03) Danilo (21, Porto, Brasilian, 13m) - Good solid Brasilian right back, can defend, but doing business with Porto is difficult..
04) Mario Fernandes (22, Gremio, 8m) - another young brasilian right back, who can play in central defence as well (a-la Ivan), seen him couple of times & was very impressed.
05) Rafael (22, Man United, 9m) - decent prospect, but same story as with Richards & Walker, don't think that mancs will sell him to us.
06) Cesar Azpilicueta (almost 23, Marseille, 8m) - been linked with us very heavily, good, solid, defensively OK, IMO our most realistic option. My only question is why Arbeloa is ahead of him in Spain national team?
07) Sime Vrsaljko (20, Dinamo Zagreb, 5m) - young, promising right back, City being linked with him as well some time ago. Not proven yet, but with a lot of potential, defensively brilliant. I think we should consider him.
08) Lukasz Piszczek (27, Dortmund, 10m) - he was very good for Dortmund & Poland, but he's 27, Real was linked with him as well, IMO Dortmund won't sell him.
09) Mathieu Debuchy (almost 27, Lille, 8m) - French League 1 best right back of the season, being linked with all sorts of clubs from Malaga to barcodes, with us as well, he's good, but he is 27 and I don't think he is our long term solution. Although he's good.
10) Gregory Van der Wiel (24, Ajax, 8m) - he's defensively worst than Bosingwa, I dunno what's all the fuss is about, he can't defend, and we can spend 8m more wisely IMO.
11, 12, 13 & 14) Ivan said that right back is not he's prefered position to play, he was our best right back in the last 8 years. But against very quick left wingers he's very unstable & makes a lot of mistakes. Paolo Ferreira IMO will be leaving. Sam Hutchinson - we all know the story with his injuries, he's not ready for the first team. Todd Kane - our most promising prospect, but he needs experience, he can be our very own Kyle Walker, but he needs some first team football somewhere on loan.

Some of his options I don't agree with, such as Walker , and Rafael .
Some of them; Van der Weil , he and I don't agree with.
But on the whole I'd say that's a fairly comprehensive list of options, apart from Clyne as I know BK him.
So lets have a poll
5 - Debuchy
4 - Azpilicueta
3 - Vrsaljko
2 - Richards
1 - Any of the other options, apart from Rafael/Walker
If you want my opinion, I'd like us to go for Debuchy, as he is 26, and so won't hinder Toddy Kane if the club decides that he can peform.
Right Back Options.

don't get rid of branna! it's also rubbish that he "makes a lot of mistakes". he has the odd bad game but that is not just against quick wingers. i also think its rubbish that he says he wants to play CB. he is not gallas. he is happy to play in our team anywhere im sure.
as i've siad before i like Debuchy. he is in his prime and won't hinder hutch/ kane. as to those saying he is too good to be a backup - he wont be. he will be a squad player rotated as we have a ridiculous number of games next year.

Id like us to buy danilo. I must confess that i bpught him on fpotball manager and he is a BEAST. Is very versatile can play at centre back and centre mid aswell

Guys, I copied and pasted the main body of the article.
I dont think Ivanovic is bad and needs to be sold at all...

Clyne used to be my favourite choice, but if the club want someone to start then Debuchy is the man. However I would try and avoid selling Ivan, obviously he's still a good player. But if he goes we could be signing as much as 3 players to replace him. Starting RB, backup RB and a CB.

So the evidence that danilo is good is because he is a beast on football manager

Well it's easy to rule out Walker, Richards and Rafael immediately
Is it hard to realise that clubs won't be willing to sell to us?

Possibilities are
VDW
Debuchy
Vrsljdhakklo
Azpilicueta
Personally, VDW comes across as Bosingwa MK II
My preference would be Isla. Why aren't we linked with him
