shame it never happened, but is it just me or does it always seem to be "if only" or "what if" with our club!

Rubbish Fred. I hit it straight nearly every time.

Regarding Gomez, I thought it was fairly common knowledge we tried to get him. It was all over the media in Dec and Jan last year

all those signings were a while ago though, that's my point.

we have some great players, but it has been a while since we have added proper quality to it.

Everybody knew about the pursuit of Gomes. I have never thought he was anything special and I still can't see it. I get it everytime with him and also Ibrahimovich - every time I watch them, they play crap and don't score. His goal record is not something to be scoffed at however.

Apparently we had a £26m bid rejected.

We then bid £30m for Carroll before securing his services for £35m.

Funny how we never increased the bid for Gomez, unless he point blank refused to move to us.
