"Bernard Arnault (born 5 March 1949) is a French business magnate best known as the chairman of Leeds United AFC...On 22 June 2012 Barnard Arnault completed his takeover of English Football League side Leeds United for £41,000,000. He bought the club from former owner Ken Bates. Leeds United where once a great team in England reaching the Champions League semi-final. However due to gross financial mismanagement Leeds entered administration after relegation from the Premier League. Leeds slipped as far as the third tier of English football for the first time in their history. Leeds finances have been improved over the last 4 years and are now a profitable club, a rare thing in todays game. They had a disapointing season last year and pressure had grown on the current regime to relinquish more money for an improved squad. He has pledged to pump money into the club to "Awake ze Sleeping Giant of English football."
