I thought Yakubu wanted to leave us to ‘play at the highest level’. Since when is China the ‘highest level’? Do we get any money from this deal or has he gone on a free?
On a positive note, Murphy signing is good bit of business.

At most, we'll probably get £1m.

it is easy for footballers/agents to confuse 'highest level' with '£5.7M'. Not knocking the lad but £5.7M? On this basis I reckon I could play over there for £500K a year - I need an agent quickly!
Provided Murphy is here to put a shift in (as opposed to muck around with his mates on Merseyside) I think it is a very good signing.

Best of luck to the Yak wherever he ends up and welcome to Danny Murphy, a player that I have always liked.

We certainly helped feed the Yak! He wont go hungry again on 5.7 million!
