The Newcastle striker is available at that knockdown price until July 31 because of a clause in his contract. After that date, clubs would have to pay the 27-year-old's full market value.

For sure going on last season but could we afford him atm? Ba may have something to prove being pushed out wide Newcastle. The step-up here could be a blessing and at at that price!

In all these discussions, not once is the situation at the team discussed? 3 stikers below the age of 26, all of which scored at least 10 goals. Hernandez was limited last yr because of playing time even with berba thrown away and you think this will somehow be good?
Btw have you watched him play? Selfish player who takes pops from anywhere. Newcastle played him on the left (not the right) and he was whinger. We are not talking of berba who would sit or owen who didnt care. We will be looking for a way to sell him next yr only 7 million will not be a bargain, it will probably be the loss incurred from the deal.

I still think its worth a bid for Seedorf – hes oldish and wont play every game but he still has some quality about him and despite his age is more mobile and stronger than both giggs and scholes. He would do a good job for 1/2 years.

Ba didn't have a bad second half of the season, he was just forced to play from the left wing to accommodate Cisse.

I really don't think a centre forward is necessary at the moment, Berba is still at the club along with Rooney, Welbeck & Chica, Nani has played in the hole for us at times as well and isn't there rumours about a young south american striker as well? Angelo Henriquez, we're well covered in the striking positions in my opinion.
If we did look to poach anyone from St.James' i would be made up if it was Johan Cabaye, i think he's real quality and would suit us down to the ground.
