Does he lack a 'Football brain'?
Is it a case of "He's been playing football since he was a child; and if he's not figured out it's about the team by now, he never will"?
Or he's a massive talent and he just needs to show that he's a team player?
Or, if he's played as a striker, would you encourage that independent streak?
I know one thing, i don't wanna lose him on the cheap or for free. Therefore i'd like to see what he could do, if things did not go as well as we'd hope for Torres.
Where do you stand on the Sturridge debate?

Actually his selfish streak is something he’s developed in more recent times. I remember him getting a few appearances before he went on loan and one thing that really impressed me was he got quality crosses in and he got them in early.

I jusdt felt that he didn't help Torres settle at all. He never gave him the ball even when he was in front of goal.

Maybe we just have to accept Sturridge for what he is.
Sturridge´s strengths = excellent footballing ability, can score goals and has potential to get even better.
Sturridge´s weaknesses = lacks footballing brain and seems to be a selfish player.
Maybe the selfishness can be coached out of him but we´ll never give him that footballing brain. You either have it or you don´t.
Despite that he can still be a top player for us and it´s probably time to see what he can do as a centre forward.
Next season Torres and Sturridge should fight it out for first choice striker role.
For that reason we need to bring in Hulk to play RW.

I stand with what WW said Give him a chance

Give him some time to mature, like United do with their young players.
Yes he must show signs of improvement, but he is still at the very beginning of his playing career.
We gave Kalou plenty of chances,we should do likewise with Sturride.

He was efficient, Sturridge is selfish and more often than not makes the wrong call, Jimmy got it right.

But you are comparing a fledgling football player with one at the very peak of his career...............sorry, but I don't think that is a realistic comparison.
Unless Sturridge is a complete A-hole, then it is up to the club to sort it out, and failure to educate & improve sturridge reflects badly on our coaching team, the senior players & the manager.
Sturridge can be a great striker he if he wants to be, give him time to get his head sorted.

I realised that MO and for that reason I’d give him a chance this year but I was simply saying their selfish streaks cannot really be compared, regardless of the points of their careers I’m judging them on the same level as they both represent the club.
