Jovetic

According to Italian paper Corriere dello Sport we've made a €22m bid for Jovetic?

Don't know how true this report is, but what are your thoughts? Type of player we need?

I haven't seen too much of him as I don't watch much Italian football anymore.

I thought the Andy carroll who ended the season played really well and the same at the Euro's. Yes he is not as good on the floor as some other players however he plays an important role in this system as he occupies the 2 centre backs and the abll can be moved to him quickly, held up and used to bring the other players in around him...

for me he is vital to this system.

Honestly can't believe how many fans have Carroll in their first eleven. He will not score the goals necessary for a push for top four. He will also slow all the moves down and as his passing is just not good enough for the Rodgers style of play.

Would be amazed if he was a starter

Do you even know what the BR style of play is, or do you just imagine the Barca way and believe that's it.

The BR way always includes a target man. At Watford it was 6 ft 2 inch Priskin, at Reading it was 6ft 3 inch Rasiak and at Swansea it was 6ft 1 inch Danny Graham.

Carroll has already shown that he can hold the ball well and he can link up with players. More work is required ti improve his technique and consistency but I have no doubt that he'll play a part.

You obviously don't understand Rodgers' style of play. The main striker doesn't have to be back playing passes. He simply is there to finish chances in 'zone 9' as he calls in and hold the ball up in 'zone 8'. He is perfect for the role.

Andy Carroll is the best player we have for holding up the ball. He needs to do this in order for other players to get on the ball.

Passing it first time into a channel is not always the best thing to do, the forward player will bust his gut the first few times to chase the ball, after three or four attempts the forward will be knackered. Thereby you need to play differently at times.

AC isn't lightning quick off the mark but has decent pace once on the move.

He is a good player. Also with skilful players around the box we will get our share of set pieces. Again another area where we can exploit the strength of Andy Carroll.

I'm sick of people saying he can only head the ball or that his touch is poor, he won't get into barcas side bla bla bla.

He is also very different to what the prem has these days... and there is nothing wrong with that in my opinion.

I didn't say he was poor, i said i don't think he will start under Rodgers with everyone fit plus the transfers that Rodgers says he needs

You all make valid points on his strengths.
