Rams to the core…

Reading the Chris Riggott article it made me think. He stated pulling on a Derby jersey again would be a dream. So, the question is, which players see Derby County as their most cherished club?

Seth Johnson springs to mind. We developed his career after we signed him from Crewe, made a killing on him but ultimately, he wanted to see his career out here, and always gave his all for us. Were we his most cherished club?

Our fans hold Igor Stimac in massive regard and being a true Ram (which he was), but you could argue Hajduk Split is his most cherished club. Started and finished his playing career there and became manager.

What about managers…

Sheep....As much as I loved Bobby D..I seem to recall that when he left the Rams for Leeds, he saw that as his dream move.

That said, one of my all time favourite Rams players without a doubt.

This thread is ort of linked to my thread'highest profile player' and generally the price tag is the clue.

Both Kevin Hector and Bobby Davison are actually Leeds United supporters, both Derby legends but they both support the Dirties.

Personally I think Ravenelli was Derby to the core !!!

After we signed him didn't Seth insist on staying at Crewe until the end of the season to help them stay up?

Proper footballer. Maybe we can invest some money in a bionic knee for him. We can rebuild him, we have the technology.

after listening to Chris Riggots interview on Radio Derby............you can't doubt the guys sincerity and passion for the club.

........Steve Powell, Derby to the core and a reet bruiser, if it wanna for injuries he would have played for England, the same injuries stopped him moving on from a team in decline at the time to Liverpool.

Never did much at Boro but must've loved his time with us, plucked from non league suddenly playing in the Prem.

Rubery & Rambling - I knew Sir Bobby did well for the Dirties after he left, but I never realised he was one of their own - you've shattered an illusion for me.

I live in Rubery, BTW - so there are at least 2 of us who don't follow the Vile or the Blouses...
