Nathan Brown leaves the Giants

As a Giants' fan, I am rather pleased he has had the good grace to leave now rather than suffer more pain & ignominy into the close of the season.

Can't say I've been impressed with Brown's tenure here as of late. Yes he took us to the Challenge Cup final in 2009 as well as finishing in the top 4 of the SL. And with the arrival of Brett Hodgson as captain in the same year, there was great promise for the Giants to become truly great.

But it all fell apart when Hodgson moved to Warrington last year; and the Giants have looked rudderless both on and off the pitch - and the last 7 or 8 games have shown how poor we have become - suffering possibly one of the most embarrassing defeats to lowly Castleford by something like 54-6!!

Don't know if Brown took his off the ball (in both senses of the word), now that he will be heading for the Saints at the end of the season. But I'm glad he has gone and we can start afresh, even if it means another couple of seasons rebuilding.

On a side-note, I fear for the Saints fans now !
