I remember a few years ago when the governing body of ladies beach volleyball laid down requirements ensuring the skimpiness of the costumes worn by the competitors. They recognised the major audience and acted accordingly to increase the profile and popularity of the sport. Politically correct? Who cares. Sexist? Who cares? I find watching the Brazilian ladies an enthralling sporting experience.
It is one of the rare situations in sport where a governing body has a sense of reality. When the Olympics start what will you be watching, beach volleyball or synchronised swimming. Big breaths, yeth and I’m only thixteen.
