....what about having this guy play for us.
Clearly wants to come to England. May not have champions league football but im sure there is a possibility somewhere here.
FSG - Pleassse go and get this guy.

Just going by the Euro's apart from one header against Greece he did fak all. Looked pretty limited type of player to me. Sure he works hard etc and is still young but he's not worth the hype.

Firstly why would Lewandowski come to us when his club are in the Champions League? Secondly RAP, ARE isn't interested in the facts, every since Dalglish was, in my opinion right, for the owners understandably, sacking, he's been trolling through the forum firing all sorts of accusations at the owners.

They are responsible becuase they are our owners. Comolli was their appointment partly becuase he had the same stupid obsession with money ball that they did. He then went on to ignore his own principals and pay for players we will never make a profit on.
-------------------------
Aggers do you actually know the priniciples of moneyball. It's ins't just about finding value, cheap players, or buying them young. There are several prinicples, one of which is to spend big money in areas that you are lacking.
When we sold Torres we lacked strikers. We'd just bought Suarez but other than we had nobody. So we spent big on that position. We all know £35m is too much but in Carroll we had a 22 year old, who was big and string and was making waves in the PL (11 goals in 19 games). It was a gamble whcih so far hasn't paid off, but it may well do, (if we decide to keep him)
We didn't have a left winger, so we spent big on Downing. The stats said he puts in more crossed than anyone else in the league, chance creation was high, and he had 7 goals and 7 assists in the previosu season. The price was high but the purchase itself wasn;t that bad.
IF we'd bought these two [players for £20m and £15m respectively I don;t think we'd be moaning too much about them. But we paid big for key areas that we were lacking in.

This is wrong in so many ways.
First of all, he's 31, not 33. Secondly, it was an incredibly bad decision to go to Chelsea on his part. He was at the best team in the league but having to compete for places with Makelele, Lampard, Essien, Ballack etc.
If he'd gone anywhere else he'd more than likely have been a success. Not being played in a team of superstars isn't the same as not being good enough. I wish we'd have signed him in 2004.

Some of the best up and coming players went to Chelsea but there were more experienced players meaning they had little chance but it didn't mean they weren't good players. Parker Johnson and Bridge for example.
