As usual there has been constant transfer speculation from the day the season ended. We have already brought in Kagawa and Powell with Ferguson stating that we were looking at one or two more.
We have had confirmed bids for Hazard, Lucas (Sky Sports) and van Persie (BBC) but what if this was all a front?
Ferguson makes a statement getting the fans speculating over who the one or two are, the club makes bids for some high-profile players but dont follow up (dont offer enough wages, bid is rejected).
What if the club doesnt bring in anyone else before the end of the transfer window? Will we the fans be placated? "At least we tried" or "the oil money clubs paying over-the-odds in wages again", but is this whats really going on?
Is the club actually broke? Will the FFP actually make a difference? Are we the fans just mindless sheep believing anything the club tells us?
I doff my tinfoil cap to you all and await your responses.
Real Bids?

P.S - I don't believe we would have sold Park if Kagawa wasn't brought in.
If you have ever been to Asia, you'd know Park and Rooney's faces are everywhere.

Diggler, if we were messing clubs and players around by bidding for them, offering them contracts which we knew would fail, it would have been made public by now.
Hazard agreed personal terms for a start.

Christ that's all you need to see when you leave home a massive billboard with Rooney staring at you

Clubs bid for players an sometimes you won't hear about it as someone said, a lot of things are leaked by agents.

Maybe this is the start of it being made public?
It wouldnt take much, just bid for a couple of high-profile players every summer and the fans think we are competing.
I dont believe this is whats happening, more of a what-if...

The Hazard bid and personal terms were accepted, it was just who he wanted to go to out of the 3.

Well if that was the case, I'm sure a lot more people would be wearing yellow and green.
