Fans can make a difference

I think that the actions of our new owners over the past week have demonstrated the influence that fans can still have in the game when you have the right people in charge willing to listen.

Two examples:
1. The new owners initially wanted an iconic manager, but with each "iconic" name that was mentioned there were a lot of mixed opinions. It has since become clear that the SOD was probably the wisest and most unilaterally popular choice among fans and players. Remember the arguments over Hoddle/Keane etc... even Mick McCarthy was not wanted by everyone and I certainly wouldn't have chosen him over SOD.

2. This comment from Pep really shows the power of Twitter and the positive influence the wonderful Forest fans can have when we channel it in the right way. This from the OS:

New signing Adlene Guedioura has thanked the Forest faithful for their supportive messages in the run-up to his move to The City Ground.

The popular midfielder was bowled over by fans who had taken to the web in an attempt to convince him to sign for The Reds.

And he admits that their support was one of the major factors behind his return.

He said: "I was on holiday and looking on Twitter and I saw that they had asked me to come. I answered the call!

"I was really pleased when I had this call from the fans so I have to say thank you to them. Hopefully we can win promotion for them."

This is why I like our new owners. That and the fact that communication has been very direct with the fans in an open and honest way.

Are you thick or what. The article is about how fans have power.

Forest fans heaps mountains of pressure on your old owner, and we all know that lead to.

I really hope you are not suggesting what I think you are.

Iwas... quit while you're ahead old boy.

Stick to your vaguely racist comments rather than this absurd line of claptrap.

Leave Iwas alone. He feels passionately about our club.

Besides, he's missing his 'friend' Igor.

I'll stick up for you Iwas. No need to thank me.

Forest, calm down son. He quit, OK.

Pity, Iwas. You seem to struggle without him.

Don't worry son. I've got your back.

No need to thank me.

Toronto I think you're a little premature, I don't think Iwas is referring to Igor...

OOE and of course simply throwing around insults shows the depth of your own intelligence.

Well done
