Rumours that AVB was Spurs 3rd choice have proved to be wide of the mark with shocking new evidence emerging that he was in fact, 13th on their wishlist. The young Portuguese manager greeted his approach from Daniel Levy with gleeful enthusiasm as Levy wearily informed him "You were the first person we thought of".
Here is a copy of the actual list.
1) Brendan Rodgers
2) Fabio Capello
3) Pep Guardiola
4) Carlo Ancelotti
5) Jurgen Klopp
6) Roberto Martinez
7) Laurent Blance
8) Marcelo Bielsa
9) Martin O'Neill
10) Kenny Dalglish
11) Steve Kean
12) Mick McCarthy
13) AVB

He is a nice guy and he might do well at Spurs but dear god he is quite naive!
He has been sacked 6 months ago for really poor results, how can he think that he was Spurs first choice.
Also, why on earth do you play Bale in a friendly just before the olympic game start?

having extra choices is not a bad thing. Choice is important and Spurs understand that

---------------
I would imagine that was more to do with Bale than him.

Because Bale is very aggressive and unapproachable and if you play him in friendlies he might calm down next season.

No going to the olympic, it was probably more to do with Bale, although I really doubt it.
But playing in a friendly game, one week before the olympic starts after claiming been injured and not available? I am sorry but that AVB's decision.
No one at the club realised that this could create a big polemic?

If Bale comes to the pre season tour why shouldn't he play when he's one of their best players?
